And for the record , I never mentioned Monk , Laudrup or Sousa .Only brought Sousa up after a direct guestion. These stats are a team problem , and we better get on it, simple .

Irritating Little Habits That Should Be Avoided: Part I:

1: Putting 'fans' in inverted commas as if said fans are subhuman.
2: Making it plain that you think being a fan means continually pouring praise on the team/Manager/Board - if you don't you're a traitor.
3: Putting up a post making it clear that any discussion about performance is heresy and shouldn't be discussed.

If you don't want to chew the cud with fellow fans about how we can improve as a team then don't contribute to the thread or better still see if you can join a forum where everyone agrees about everything, preferably one with graphics of pink, fluffy clouds and lovely little unicorns.

33 Percent possession against Everton , 11 corner kicks for Everton and none for us .Im genuinely worried about all these worrying FACTS , Im genuinely happy with our points, but we better get our **** together .Villa won theyre first 3 games , but bad play caught up to them , lets hope we get our game back together or we keep getting "" lucky"" all season within the ""non Swansea way""

We got a valuable point though, playing the last 20 with ten effin men....

Couple of seasons ago, 72% possession against the Toon at home & we lost 2 effin nil!!

Love possession football, but it's not everything....

Worst in the league for being in the attack ,worst in the league spending time in defend mode and you just want to march through it ...like usual campi.Hey , if your happy ...congrats.Im worried and will continue to worry till these very , vwry important stats are turned around .A lot of comfort has been built around our first 3 games.....

Breezy, for being 'worst' at everything, we haven't half played some gorgeous football at the Liberty this season...

Although I find WSAF and Campioni's views on this irksome (see post 23) they have a point. The stats simply mean a change in approach maybe but as has been pointed out you can have very high percentage stats (as in possession) and still lose a game. The goals we have scored have been impressive.

"Just for the record",I also "didn't feel comfortable" when Laudrup was sacked, however inevitable it had become.
The way in which he was treated, both by the Club, and some on here, left a sour taste in my mouth.
Still does, but as you say,he has gone.

I'm not sure that Monk and the team are being excessively criticised,or continually being put down.
Do you not accept that fans' have opinions, points of view, etc.,which may not comply with yours?
Are those opinions to be silenced lest they offend the sensitivities of some?
It will be a sad day should that become the norm, although it has been attempted on several occasions by excessive, overbearing modding.

"Most reasoned fans" would surely encompass open discussion.
It's called democracy.
Perhaps you feel democracy, and football Forums, are not compatible.

Vetch if you don't like the way the board is modded step up to the plate sunshine and you can take my place. Your opinion on this however is utter nonsense as everyone kniws that myself and swanselona have been on opposite sides of the monk v laudrup debate from day one.

As you say Roofjack if we don't change the attacking way we used to play our stats are going down hill and they need to change Quick smart. as we all know its great being 6th but for how long can we stay up there ,we have Arsenal this wk so we could get 3pts, but the next game is man city and cant see us getting a point up there unless we go back to how we can play and start scoring goals our defence is a lot stronger this season but we don't seem to be able to get the ball in the net to much back passing. So unless we start winning a few more games , our stats will get a lot worse andwe could be in the lower half by xmas

Not sure, Gendros. Anything can happen and we can't ignore the stats but they could be reflecting Monk's emphasis on keeping it tight at the back, nothing more.

Most fans have wanted to move on, because as you agreed, he's gone. So if our current manager has done any good things & the one's that 'have' moved on, have rejoiced in it, you can see the resentment of the one's aggreived by Laudrup's removal from the club. It's continually plain to see!! They don't seem to want to accept any forward progress under the current manager. Even on threads not directly related to performances, there are snidey posts/comments over Monk. It's effin tiring mate, that's what probably get's the back-up of the 'reasoned fans', not the all-out Monk backers!! It's like, give the guy a chance ffs...

This is pretty much how I see things tbh.

I've got a confession to make as well. For the first time since I joined this forum (how many years?) I've put someone on ignore. I'm just totally fed up with this person's constant negativity and veiled swipes at the current manager. And before people start jumping on me for not embracing others opinions, I do, I really do. But I've had a gutsful of Mr. X and enough is enough.

"step up to the plate...take my place"
I have declined numerous approaches to become a mod on this Forum.
I would sooner dig trenches in rocky soil using only a toothpick.

"if you don't like the way the board is modded"
Now where did I say that?

What I don't like, and have had recourse to repeat myself, is when you have tried to impose your will on the subject being discussed,i.e. Laudrup, viz,"We have debated this often enough".
You have even been known to close threads that you didn't like, when Laudrup was the subject.

However, recently you have become less emotive about it,and that's to be applauded.

Mods,by definition, shouldn't get involved in the threads.
If they find it impossible to refrain from posting, then they have to be neutral, and unbiased.
When it came to Laudrup.you were anything but unbiased, thereby making a rod for your mod status.

Modding should be a fairly straightforward role.
Rules are laid down, and they should be enforced.
Failure to do that equitably, and to clearly have an agenda, gets in the way.
Fairness, and a complete lack of bias, are basic requirements of an effective mod.

I'm not sure that your "utter nonsense" statement sits favourably with your earlier rebuke of Dragonborn.

We need to score more goals. I know, stupid thing to say, since all Club's would like to do that.
Only 13 goals scored, the worst by a long way, of the teams in the top 6.

Have I ever said I want your babies? <laugh>

Would be nice if the discussion is about the topic , if you dont like the topic then go elsewhere. As for the ignore button , use it ...dont make a big announcement about it like it means a lot , just do it .Was always amazed at the talk of ignore button , instead of just using it .

The fact I'm responding to your comment Roofjack proves it wasn't you. <laugh> I won't mention ignore buttons ever again.

"Would be nice if the discussion is about the topic"

I've actually supported that view on this very thread roof. <ok>

I dont really care who puts who on ignore , do it and move on..simple. The ""announcing"" of someone using the ignore button is what bothers me , not the using of it . Im sincerely worried about these stats , whoever isnt thats fine but it certainly must be worth discusion without being attacked as ""Not towing the line "". hopefully we will get those stats turned around and win.also.
