Currently playing against Manchester United. Team is - Archer Smith Caulker Hall Byrne Carroll Mason Falque Kane Townsend Obika This is a decent line up (ok, well maybe up until Obika), but the omissions of Dean Parrett and John Bostock, does suggest they have little future at the club. Jordan Archer is extremely highly thought of by AVB and his coaches and any future loan deal to a lower club should not detract from how highly he is rated. At the time of posting, Macheda has put United ahead.
Decent game so far. Been watching it on a stream from wiziwig. Both keepers not been tested really but the football's been good to watch. Townsend has imrpessed me the most so far, given the Utd defence some problems and as I speak, has just now had a chance cleared off the line by Utd debutant Buttner.
Grant Hall (has he actually signed from Brighton yet, or still on trial?) has just come off for Velijkovic (sp?) due to injury, was clutching his hammy. Man Utd now have a penalty, silly challenge from Smith. 2-0 Utd, Macheda.
My stream keeps freezing so it's good to get a report from you. Townsend has had a great start to the new season: he's too good for this level.
My streams been great, head on to wiziwig and click the third link down called "Gzerolee". Byrne has looked pretty good too. In fairness, Utd have got some experienced heads on the field - Lindegaard, Evans and Fletcher plus new signings Buttner and Powell. Machedo has had his fair share of first team experience too. Our most experienced players out there are Caulker, Kane and Townsend and we're not looking out of depth, think the result is a little harsh, missed the first goal but apparantly it was a sloppy one to give away and as I said, Smith made a silly foul for the pen, not malicious but just came in from behind and tripped their attacker.
Where's Rose? He's not still suspended, surely? On the way out (loan or permanent), perhaps? I think the line-up shows that we need another left-back and at least one more striker that can play up top on his own. You'd expect Livermore to add a bit of grit to that midfield when everyone's fit, too.
Lindegaard just made a world class double save. Obika, half scissor kick half over head kick volley and Lindegaard gets down low to parry into Kane's path who heads it, thinking a certain goal and Lindegaard gets a finger to it somehow. Kane was eventually ruled offside though but unbelievable stuff from Lindegaard.
Rose mentioned on Twitter a few weeks back PNP that he was looking forward to some regular first team football - so gives the impression something may happen with him.
Obika's on a over head kick mission, unfortunately doesn't get enough power and Lindegaard gets down well to hold it. Yet again, Townsend is tearing their defence a new back side, how has this guy not made his Prem debut?!?! Way too good for this level. Byrne and him linking up really well, first I've really seen on Byrne and has definitely impressed.
Not that we've completely dominated, Utd have had their fair share too, but it's been a typical performance from Spurs - loads of position and chances but no killer edge. Since Townsend went off we've had no direct runs at their full backs now. MOTM for me.
Penalty to Spurs. Soft one, think Kane looked for it, chip over into the box from Ceballos, Kane knows the defender is behind and waits for the barge to fall down. Is a penalty in my opinion but a soft one. Mason rifles it home, great pen. 2-1. COYS!!!
Kane definitely played for that. Good to see Mason score from the spot. In his first full season in the Academy league, he scored 19 goals, yet somehow managed to miss 7 penalties (grr). I kid you not.
