Maybe if Corbyn was not leading a party of remain MPs while being a leaver himself he would not appear to get himself into such a muddle. His policies other than on Brexit you can take or leave, but he is saying too many different things on Brexit while he tries to follow rather than lead his MPs.
I would say that Corbyn is the only one trying to bring the country together Frenchie. He knows that some sort of Brexit is going to happen and is steering towards the softest one possible. He has said himself that he is 70% in favour of remaining - this appears a little half hearted, but he must realize that the only Brexit currently on offer is a very right wing affair. There are circumstances in which Corbyn would be in favour of Brexit - Michael Foot supported it, as did Tony Benn, but now is not the time, and the rationale behind this particular form of Brexit is the wrong one for him.

Perhaps we should start a new thread?

Something along the lines of "Lets slag each other off" Cos I am getting a bit fed up of it on this thread.

Who wants to start it? SH, OFH, Yorkie?

If I had my way I would shut down all these political threads... Sadly I keep getting drawn in.

We had much more fun on here before politics came in..

I propose that we colonize the Luton 606 forum and then, if people want to insult each other, they can do it there - we could even banish people to Luton, as an alternative to banning. The Luton forum is empty - the last actual Luton fans were last on there about 7 years ago and the 2 of them had a row with each other. In the meantime some of the Pompey lads colonized it for a while but they have moved on to pastures new.

Hardly a peep out of me today as I have more than enough to do. We used to have decent conversations on many varied subjects, but somehow we have moved from people expressing opinions to those that are little more than one line rejoinders. Any forum will only consist of those who wish to contribute, and you can see how some go where they feel at home. There are some where anything other than WFC discussion is strictly banned, If that is what people want it would be easy to enforce, and would save me a lot of reading.

The last couple of years has seen a marked reduction in the tolerance of views outside those expressed by a controlling hardcore of regular posters. This has resulted in many feeling unwelcome on this board, so their only recourse is to stop posting. I have been asked numerous times why I bother in the face of repeated abuse. I post because I feel there needs to be at least a small effort to rebalance the constant anti Brexit and/or anti Tory / UK.

Try to post without abuse and you will get none back in return, it really is as simple as that.

Too late for those that have left because of the clique.
And because of the aggression you stir up... True...
So simply the answer is you stop posting on the way you have been and others will not feel the need to respond in the way that you seem to have enjoyed.
I offered you an olive branch earlier on today myself....

The latest poll on the next general election has the Tories with massive 140 majority if Boris Johnson is elected as the new Conservative leader. Labour would be beaten into third place by the LibDems. The worst performing Tory leadership contender was Rory Stewart who would only win a small fraction of the seats compared to Boris. He does look unstoppable now.

Terrible outcome for all who want fair society and an ethical foreign policy..
