What was the point in drawing the groups? Why not just draw the teams and put them in that order?

Because certain teams out of pot 1 have to go into a certain lettered group based on other teams from that country in pot 1 who have already been drawn. Something to do with the night they play on.
Groups a-d are the red group and group e-h are the blue group. Each group will alternate between Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
