Teams are less likely to concede goals if the opposition are limited to long shots. I remember Nigel Adkins saying that when we were good. <wah> Long shots at goal excite fans and look great if they succeed, but a high number of them suggest we are desperate (without the skill to score from many of them). I have to admit though that I would probably be calling for the player to shoot out of pure desperation. :oops:
