Taking everything into account and crunching data from Europe's top leagues, did you know that statistically... 'Arry is a ****
Saints haven't won back to back PL games in around 18months, with back to back wins coming against Palace and WBA on 5th and 8th April respectively 2017.
Only Fulham has taken a larger percentage of their shots from outside the box this year. Dating back to 2016-17, we have taken 443 long shots, and scored on approximately 1 out of every 49 attempts.
Judging by Qwerty's post above yours, we need to recall a certain Dutch garden gnome from Feyenoord!...
Daily Mail report on Mark Hughes going to be taking our goal shy strikers back to basics....... "Guys! That wooden structure with a net in, that's the goal...."
Teams are less likely to concede goals if the opposition are limited to long shots. I remember Nigel Adkins saying that when we were good. Long shots at goal excite fans and look great if they succeed, but a high number of them suggest we are desperate (without the skill to score from many of them). I have to admit though that I would probably be calling for the player to shoot out of pure desperation.
Yes! Ive wanted Saints to have one of these type stats, the type the big boys have. That must be one win in about 25 games!
