Is that the first time that Bednarek has opened the scoring and we didn't blow a 2 goal lead to lose 3-2?
Unless I'm very much mistaken, the Brentford match was the first time in the PL that we had outscored a team in the second half since October 16th, when Broja scored the lone goal of the match in the 53rd minute. It appears that those are the only two times that it has occurred all season.
There are only four teams that have not been beaten by Manchester City in the league this year: Liverpool, Spurs, Palace and ourselves. We're the only one of those four to have played them twice.
Bonus! We likely are the lowest-variance team in any top flight league, by expected goals. Our shot attempts would be expected to produce 26.01 goals: we have scored 26 goals. Our shot attempts against would be expected to produce 33.91 goals: they have produced 34. The combination of those two numbers would be expected to leave us with 25.99 points: we have 25 points.
Stu-pendous "The side’s record with the attacking midfielder available this season now stands at nine wins, five draws and just one loss – without him, they have won just one of 15." https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/1...tuart-armstrong-made-one-change-improve-game/
Love Stu to bits, but that only tells half the story. Just important is that his replacements earlier in the season were Walcott, Djenepo, and the rabbit-in-headlights version of Elyounoussi.
Some '****ty stats' that I've read recently which may or may not have been said elsewhere on the forum. Romeu has scored once a season every season in the PL since he joined in 2015 exccept for the 2019/2020 season where he didn't score at all. Added to that his goals are either a curse or a blessing for the opposition he scores against. He has only scored against teams that have gone on to get relegated or gone on to win the PL that same season. Given that this season he has scored against Norwich that looks likely to continue! Our current run of home form without a loss is weirdly our longest run in the PL without a loss since the 2004/05 season when we got relegated from the PL.
Apparently Werner has now scored more goals against us (5) than against every other club in the PL combined (4).
