Much as I dislike Wednesday, they are the biggest club in Yorkshire. Won the most leagues and FA Cups of any Yorkshire team and had the biggest attendance of any. Their crowds have held up well, getting as many in Div 3 as Leeds did in Div2 in a smaller city with another club pulling in 20,000.
Yeah, but in Leeds defence, it's not their fault they have rubbish plastic fans who only turn out for the top divisions.
Whilst I don't disagree with any of that I think (as many on here will know) that history is totally irrelevant. The fact is ourselves, Boro and Leeds are the clubs which you would most expect to be challenging for promotion this season and in my opinion, that's all that matters.
Without trying to be glib, I seriously don't expect Leeds to be challenging for promotion. They should be but I just can't see it. I think a relegation battle is more likely.
You never know what's going on with them, financially and behind the scenes they are just a mystery. I included them because the year befor last they finished above us and Boro but obviously us and Boro did a lot better last season. With the right signings we could well be the biggest in Yorkshire this year, but we could just as easily be a sudden flop like others who change managers.
Seems we can't even have a fans v owners argument to ourselves. http://www.itv.com/news/calendar/2012-06-08/leeds-united-players-speak-out-against-regime/
Is McCormack on a free, or have I been hallucinating? Not that I like to take advantage of Weeds' misfortunes or anything!
