We need more than two.

Proschwitz should sort out the attack assuming we keep all the others and we're sorted for keepers but we still need one or two defenders, two wingers and maybe another midfielder.

Phil Buckingham just tweeted we have interest in Abdoulaye Faye; so he could be one of them?

Didn't we try and sign him a few seasons back and he rejected us?

I remember us being interested. Can't remember if he rejected us though. If we were in the Premier League, he probably did reject us. The only people who would join us were foreigners and weirdo's from Premier League sides that they couldn't wait to get rid of. *COUGH* MCSHANE! *COUGH*

Faye might be handy. He's the kind of defender that every other team seems to have but we lack: the big bully type who will win anything. Stoke fans loved him in his first season there, but I'm not sure if he's as good any more. How old is he?

Numbers wise I'd say we only need a defender and the two wingers, and if Michael Keane has been agreed in principal then that's that covered (although it'll makes McShane a centreback because Keane isn't particularly big either). After that it's a case of replacing what we sell. I do think there are players we need to be selling and replacing, but I don't see us signing their replacements until we've got deals lined up for them.

I hope not, I'm hoping it was Amdy we were linked with before because at the time we weren't impressed because it was the **** one of the two. (I always get the two confused, but the consensus the last time was we wished it was the other one)

City never sign the worst players...!

<whistle>

Just been tweeting Phil Buckingham.

Apparently we are interested in El Mohamady and Meyler. Additionally there are 2 Greeks on trial with us tomorrow night, likely one will be Koutsianikoulis. In addition to these there are another two players we are in talks with (presumably one is Abdoulay Faye.

Anyone worried about getting too many players in?
Of course we have a lot of players going out and so we need more in.

But hear me out... Everyone will have a clean slate, when a new manager comes in he wants a good look at everyone... My concern is that there may be quite a few groans from our fans and from perhaps some players too about formation and more importantly first team selections...
I'm expecting quite a debate over the two keepers... Hopefully our defence won't move too much, we'd need cover more than anything really, I'm just worried that bringing someone like Faye may disrupt the balance if Bruce wants him to start.
Midfield will be the biggest one for me. We already have a fair few and if we add a couple more I think we may see a very different midfield to last season. It may be a good thing but I'm just worried about scenarios like dropping Koren, I think it's possible if Bruce prefers a player he's brought in... then what? I'd expect a lot of people moaning.
Up front, I suppose it will come down to who takes their chances early.

I just have a bit of a fear that, whereas a few months back we needed to only reinforce, add a little to our team since we had most of that backbone sorted, that bringing in a few too many first team players, presumably players that won't be happy to sit on the bench, may disrupt things quite heavily.

I'm not fussed at all! I'm happy to see new faces, I just hope Bruce can find the balance... if things don't go to plan, I expect a few disgruntled players by the end of season...

Hmm, don't see it being a problem myself. The keeper situation is the only one I see being an issue. With the defence I'd expect Faye to be a replacement for Hobbs whilst he's out so we've still got a big/strong/dominant CB to play alongside Chester. Then when Hobbs is back, I'd expect him to come back in for Faye, then Faye would provide good cover for both CB and as a defensive centre-mid. Obviously there could be an issue if Faye (or any other CB that might come in) did outstanding, but surely that's what we want, quality throughout the squad and players having to impress to stay in the team. I'd agree with central midfield, I don't think we need any, even though all the ones linked have sounded decent (Tunnicliffe, Meyler, etc). If we kept all the current squad I'd say we only needed 3 more additions; a defender and 2 wingers.

So Proschwitz signs today, debut at Grimsby. Bruce talking to two out of Faye, Meyler and Elmo and the two Greek trialists are Vasilios Koutsianikoulis and Apostolos Vellios. Apparently.

Jakupovic

Rosenior Chester Hobbs Dudgeon

Stewart Koren Evans Elmohamady?

Fryatt Proschwitz

Just Hobbs to get fit and a winger to buy and then I'd be very happy with the starting line up, although I'd like a bit more bite in centre midfield.

Well done our owners. Sorry for ever doubting you!

" Anyone worried about getting too many players ....." I think there is still time for few to go. Loan or otherwise.

What happened to our interest in Paul Anderson?
