Ehab puts on a better show than his dad, which is hardly tricky, but his words are essentially just an AA paraphrase, rather than an amplification as such, he rewords the mantra using an admittedly smoother tone and lexicon.
But, he’s only impressive if you juxtapose him to AA. That is a key point and reason why we’re hearing from him now.
He certainly didn’t seem astute or particularly a good orator when he was interviewed by Burns, who’s hardly Paxman. He flapped and made up figures based on nothing declared – again like AA. A decent journalist (no offence to DB as such but he's not cut out for that side of journalism) would have smashed him to bits.
Ehab is reasonably well presented, moderately articulate (fluent in English as opposed AA) and has a fairly warm manner (which is betrayed by his actual words if people properly listened).
Rather than the message, it's clearly the presentation, because, as stated, his message is the some. But, some people buy into this presentation hook and line and sadly, it doesn’t surprise me one bit. They are taken in similar to the way a conman would operate (I’m not actually saying he is one by the way) and people love superficial, easy solutions and are hooked into the mainstream superficiality that has infected the majority in this country – personality politics are a good example of this.
The Allam’s knew this. Hence why he’s been wheeled out recently. As said, it’s of no surprise to me that people buy it.
I would be interested if Mel or another poster could explain further as to why they like Ehab and his sudden contribution; if they can give me a genuinely intelligent and cogent rationale, I’d be very very surprised.
