Good old Punchestowns is entered in a p2p on Sunday

Good luck to the old boy, say I. He’s still only a 10YO so there is still time left for him to make a comeback of sorts. His place in racing folklore is assured though as Punchestowns was, of course, Mr Henderson’s 2,000th winner.

I see they are still hopeful that Imperial Commander will make the Grand National line-up.

Yes Bob

No George. I thought he ran a belter on his comeback and quite frankly this years field is nowhere as good as the Gold Cup he won. If anyone disagrees with that statement they need to go to Specsavers!

Oh and well I remember Wild Blue Yonder, who chased home Purple Bay on his debut, will all being well run in that very rich (£50k, I think) bumper at Newbury two weeks on Saturday. Let’s hope that he can ‘bring the bounty, back to the county’. Same day as the Lincoln. Cor blimey is it that time of the year already!

Hopefully, by then Purple Bay will have boosted the form big styley in the Champion Bumper.

Sir Barney, O'Regan had good things to say about Purple Bay in a recent preview evening. Apparently he said something along the lines of:

Looking forward to riding Purple Bay and a good run wouldn’t surprise, though he’s one for the future.

The Lock Master 9/2 Southwell 4:40

Trainer Michael Appelby can seemingly do no worng at the track lately and returns TLM to 1m, a trip all his CD wins have come on. Has to meet Dubawi Island on worse terms since beating him here 2 runs back but i just think if he can get a run up the straight he may be hard to catch here again today and i'm prferring him to Caledonia Prince who is upped in class after a cosy win here last week.

Have to laugh at Robert Cooper interviews, alway's look's so awkward between him and his subject. Love him or hate him you have to smile when you see the awkwardness he creates.

Excellent to hear, George. I really hope they would hurry up though and announce whether he goes to Cheltenham or Aintree. Either way though I think the Bumper this term looks really, really good.

Imperial Commander <laugh>

stick to what you know m8, low grade national hunt racing involving lowly rated and extremely slow animals running around painfully depressing tracks, very, very slowly, and ridden by utter brick wall morons.

Based on O'Regan's comments you'd say he's Cheltenham bound.

Fantastic. 25/1 is an absolute steal then.

It was before. I took 25's NRNB <ok> It's good to hear that they are thinking positively though :)

Question: So if you back Arvika NOW ew while there are still plenty of entries, you still get paid 1,2,3 even if only 3 start?

I see Paddy Power are going a standout 40/1 that either Uniter Or Madrid win on Penalties. Has to be worth a few quid on both, should be a tight game and another 1-1 could be on the cards..
