Beg To Differ / The Young Master
    The New One
Bitofapuzzle - awful price on favourite

I was fortunate to meet Simon Claisse during Hurricane Katrina some time back and I said "Crikey this ****ing weathers terrifying isn't it mate, what have they said the forecast is?"

"Good to soft soft in places" he said.

    Bellshill in the Supreme <yikes>

I know I slated him in the preview but this entry has just made me reassess him. When you look back at his Punchestown G1 bumper win over 2m, he'd Altior well held, who was 8 lengths back in 6th. Tomorrow Altior's 4/1 whereas he's 14/1... Maybe this horse has just been crying out for the better ground, he is a King's Theatre after all. A fast run 2m on good ground could just be the key to him. Could be a decent value bet here but really think Mins home and hosed.

I took a bit of loose change on him last night at fancy odds Beefy on the off chance he does indeed improve for the ground/trip.

He clearly wasn't right last time out and it was desperate ground too, but even so it does take a leap of faith. Nice horse though and put a line through be last run and you'd have to be interested in that price.

1 more sleep. Looking forward to my trip on Wednesday but sadly working tomorrow. Ground likely to still have plenty of give whatever the stated going so a few speculative each way punts the likely order of the day for me. Charbel @ 25s in the Supreme (one of the few of my 10 to follow who's managed to get here) and Vicente @ 20s in the 4 miler. I picked out a couple in the handicaps both of which have been pulled. So gone back to the drawing board and picked out Audacious Plan for the lovely Rebecca at a whopping 50/1 in the Ultima and Double Shuffle at a more moderate 11s in the Novices Handicap. Oh and I've joined Beefy in a massive plunge on that nag of Twisters in the Champion Hurdle:wink: . All the very best folks.

Nah mate only joshing. I gave up on him after last year. Good horse but not quite good enough even with the superstar out. His jumping out to the right seems to get worse the older he gets.

The festivel that always seems so far away is finally here! Here are my picks for tomo
Race 1-Like a few of my fellow 606ers I backed Min at a tasty price last year and I'm taking him to win the Supreme for the fourth year in a row for Willie and Co.He has such a good hurdling technique and I think he will take to the course with no problems.Looks like Hendo has the best of the English runners but the last time Hendo had a winner in this race I was barely reaching puberty!I also like Henry de Bromheads Supasundae who came fourth in the bumper and has also beaten Yanworth so have had an Ew saver at 16s
Race 2-All about Douvan here but is to short a price from a betting perspective.I like Sizing Johns chances in the w/o Douvan market and have taken a slice of 2/1 to follow him home(another HDB who should do well this week)
Race 3-The bookies will be looking to win something back at this stage in a tough handicapp and there are a number of horses screaming 'plot job' .Two I will be backing are Carole's Destrier 14s for shrewdie Neil Mulholland who won this race last year.Pip Hobbs looks to be targeting the Grand National with Kruzklinin, looks well treated off a mark of 148 and will appreciate it left handed,Ew territory on both
Race 4-Well folks we have a wide open Champion Hurdle in store with 4/5 in with a decent shout. I'd love to see Fanny Power win this but the fact she hasn't ran over two miles and has had a rushed preparation puts me of her short price. The one I do like Nicholls Caynon at 6/1 Ew.This horse has one six graded races and has already beaten the mighty if somewhat under cooked faugheen so has the best form in the book.He battled on well to beat Identity Thief in the RyanAir Hurdle and IT who also has solid place claim based on that run and will like the better ground.I know NC faded badly lto against Faugheen but he hated the ground and has a few weeks off to get himself together.I may be losing my marbles but I'll be having an Ew saver on Peace and Co.I know he is progressed this season but he won at the course in last years Triumph and recently had his 'windy' done so could out run his odds at 25/1
Race 5-All about Vroom Vroom Mag here and fully expect her to oblige.Polly Peachum on her last run can follow her home so I'll do a small forecast bet
Race 6-Siding with the excellent amateur Jamie Codd at Cheltenham has proved fruitfull to backers in the last few years so I'll be siding with Noble Endeavour.Mags Mullen had a winner at the festivel last year and even though Balleychorus has two FFs in his last three runs I think he will put in a decent round of jumping on better ground.I backed this lad Ew at 20s yesterday and seen there has been money down and is into 12s in some places
Race 7-Tough race to end proceeding but I do think Double Shuffle has a decent chance of making the frame at 10s.I also had a wee wager Ew on McKinley at 16s who I've been told has been working well at home even though Mullins record in handicapp chases is woefull.I missed the boat on Aloomomo who is at best 6s but looks to be well handicapped and will have a win bet.
best of luck and enjoy the day
