Hmmmm...calling them "ridiculous ideas" downplays them as not important.

So far:

Put a Muslim ban in place..unconstitutional and against the Geneva convention.

Stated quite clearly he believes anyone that is brown or black shouldn't have their vote counted. He also has threatened to use federal forces to impinge on states rights and enforce govt control on certain cities..that sounds an awful lot like imposing martial law. Even his more gentle approach is to withdraw funding until they comply.

He and his team have stopped any channels of data coming out of govt departments while sending out announcement after announcement that are factually untrue.

They have called on the media to only repeat their version of events (which are all ancedotal and based on the lunatic ravings of paranoid right wing sites) and have asked media companies to sack any journalist who breaks from this.

Sorry but these are the actions of a fascist regime. Take a look at Turkey to see just how quickly this deteriorates. So we impose sanctions on the likes of Russia, Iran and NK for behaving in this way but not the US if it continues this way?

Even (and I'm pragmatic enough) if we take the "Saudi" approach of ignoring all this to keep selling stuff. What have you seen so far that remotely suggests he will give us a good deal? (America First: doesn't suggest but we'll sacrifice and make an exception for the UK)

The only thing that suggests it is his hatred of the EU..but hey..we sell more to the EU than the US...that isn't going to change no matter what some of us more bitter Remainers suggest...because it's business...and we buy more from the EU than we sell. With someone like Trump who takes every slight as a grevious insult how long do you think we could play both sides before he acts in spite? Never mind he's a pathological liar.

Sorry but what you are suggesting is to literally become a vassal of a foreign power. We may joke that that happened long ago...the Blair years lol but it didn't.

And not wanting to break the Internet rule but appeasement is exactly how Hitler was allowed to do what he did...you want to make the same mistake with a guy with thousands of nuclear weapons???

Ok fair enough. I'm in my 40's, I don't use social media.

It's the stupidity of the easily manipulated, who rely on unsubstantiated and uncorroborated news feeds, who have created this **** storm.

Trump uses social media to target them so on that we agree.
 
I should add that he seems to have overlooked blocking Saudi and Qatari citizens from entering the US.

The first being the main contributors to the 911 attacks and the latter being the main funders to IS.

But both also make the Republican oil barons very rich unlike Somalia.

I'm not suggesting we don't confront the issues surrounding his policy ideas, I'm suggesting that banning him from the country and signing a load of petitions is pointless other than to piss him off, which won't make him change his mind at all and is more likely to make him dig his heels in. You've seen how he reacts when he thinks he is under attack.

Work with America, publicaly show the strength of the relationship between the two countries and behind closed doors discuss the issues. That's far more likely to actually have an impact than the nonsense idea of banning him from the country.

Yes i agree. they find someone to tell them what to think quite early and never learn how to think for themselves.

Mostly these guys seem to fawn over every issue like piplines, water purity but then go out of their way to refuse to acknowlege that irrespective of their views a lot of democrats picked clinton in a two horse race as opposed to a non democrat drop in in sanders.

They then went out of their way to make out she was too ill. Killing everyone who didnt agree with her and on and on.

Trump never laid a glove on her in any debate and rarely had to say a bad word about her but focused on mid west states her husband culled mines and cars from.

And right now the same libtards had a lovely womens parade where lots for stars got foul mouthed at and they just littered the place.

For me these clowns are as bad as alt right trump supporters. And all they want to do is say i told you so and bernie is my guy.

Not that most ever heard of him a year prior to this disasterous campaign.

You are right for now..if we are a "friend" you take them aside and tell them their heads up their arse but Trump will just ignore it if not be insulted by it.

I genuinely believe the time will come to publicly condemn him though..he has no check on him internally...scared and cowtowed Congress. Soon to have majority control of the SC..most state legislatures republican.

Look at the chaos he has caused in 2 weeks..As Mito says...it's 2 years until Democrats, IF they get their act together could take back part of Congress and maybe squeeze the funding on his lunacy..

Interestingly...we might just see in the next few days a contempt of court issued which could put CBP and US Marshalls against each other....literally one federal department going to arrest members of another....worse the AG could countermand those orders so Executive defying the Judiciary.....that's banana Republic stuff...

nothings going to have an impact. everyone globally is on a ticking clock and the more delays that can be foisted on him in the next 2 years the better. After that either the yanks will block the houses of they won't.

Its all about delaying tactics to take the edge of his lunacy.

As i said what he is doing is absolutely nothing but for show right now. Building a wall where there is a fence is a nothing policy and banning a few somalians for 4 months is again bluster to show he keeps promises they cost nothing but give easy outs while people track his promises

the same with obamacare. that was gone with any republican.

his staff all has to be hired. 4000 of them or something in washington.

It's a game show to him. He's not the full ticket and doesn't understand the real life consequences of his statements and decisions.

He's never lived in the real world. His business was a game as daddy gave him some money to play with.

Its not a good use of the tool

I think we should recognise that this petition system got Hillsborough among other things debated and opened the way for the inquiry. IT is important that specious liberal cry babies don't ruin the tools usefulness like this

it is a stupid specious request (not a debatable matter) I find it worrying that s many young people think all the need do is whine (not vote) and then click a few buttons to make their point.
