i always assumed there was a strong probability we would end up just crashing out and the Irish border question re border controls just highlights my fear that little or no planning has taken place on the actual details here Partially i think as to do so just brings into focus the sharp divides that exist in both main parties. PS you're confusing the ECJ with ECHR.
the way the house of lords has gone and how Mays own cabinet and the EU have laughed in her face on a customs "partnership" suggests your fears are more than justified.
why anyone thought our present crop of politicians were capable of dealing with such a huge issue was beyond me - just look at the Heathrow expansion deadlock . Then we had the lunacy of triggering article 50 without getting any concessions from EU over the framework for the negotiations which was done purely for internal Tory political reasons.
you are right. the longer the thing was not triggered the more antsy the EU would have been about 2019 elections and having those clean without the nigels of this world parading about when brexit did occur. the moment it was triggered it became.. well you did it now what are you going to do about it.
New Report Reveals Involvement of 7,000 UK Personnel in Saudi-Led Bombing of Yemen By "bombing" they mean the wholesale slaughter of civilians, women babies, the unborn. But Putin or something https://www.mintpressnews.com/repor...nvolved-in-saudi-led-bombing-of-yemen/241467/
Re Muh Russian collusion Back in early 90s: special council Robert Mueller tanked an investigation into a Pakistani bank (BCCI) that was being used as a CIA slush fund for various things including financing the Mujahideen (OBL had several accounts there). The network remained in place and continued to fund al-Qaeda. Also, he signed off the Uranium One deal where Russia was given control of 20% of US Uranium, and then 145 million flowed to the Clinton Foundation from Russians.. what a coincidence
They could only hold out so long before the public got annoyed at the delay and started thinking it wasn't going to happen. All in all, you can't really blame the government, you have to blame the people that voted for Brexit.
or the government who called referendum then allowed half that party post absolute lies about the nhs.etc.
Lies like at every election and referendum. I hope everyone votes to remove the specific individuals that lied at the next election. Not that it isn't too late to stop Brexit now.
doesn't matter how annoyed the (52% of the) public got it is the HMG's job to get the best possible result for the UK from the referendum result.
Interesting to see how Trump drops a treaty and now Israel goes after Iran. As if it its hunting season on Persians again. Israel complaining Iranian air defences in Syria are covering their territory. (Actually, that's Syrian territory being occupied by Israel). I don't want to make Iran seem innocent here, they're clearly not, and knew what they were doing, Iran knew Israel wouldn't be happy; but Israel are clearly overstepping their borders again here and opting once again for a "might is right" philiosophy. Comments such as "if it rains here it will storm in Iran" show exactly what the problem is. They do this in occupied Palestine too. If a Palestinian kills an Israeli they kill a dozen Palestinians regardless of whether they are innocent or guilty. An Arab life (or Persian life) to them is worth a fraction of an Israeli life, so in some medieval justice system think a death or infraction against them deserves a 12 times response. I want to back Israel here, they're the democracy and not sponsors of terrorist groups, but Israel definitely out of line here.
Israel are a rogue nation who have been in contravention of 46 UN resolutions. Without the backing of US they’d have been brought to book years ago. They’ve been pushing Trump relentlessly to carry out his election pledge about the Iran deal. They’ve got some front pontificating about Iran’s nuclear programme of yesteryear, whilst still refusing to this day to discuss their own nuclear capabilities, which everyone knows is vast - again sponsored by the US.
A democracy that murders innocents with impunity. The Israeli government ARE a terrorist group, financed and armed by the good old US of A
How anyone can vote for a right-wing party, is beyond belief!! Now that the Conservatives have seen off UKIP they can scrap Brexit in its entirety, lessen the deadening power that Westminster has over us, and give the regions much more money and power, get sterling to around 1.20 to the euro, in readiness to join the eurozone. If it is good enought for the most powerful economy in Europe it is good enough for us. It is in the interests of football fans in particular and the wider community beyond. Consider how much you pay to convert your pounds into sterling and vice versa. If that is not ripping of the public, I do not know what is.
It's low taxes mate.... everyone likes the idea of all the good stuff but a lot think it grows on trees. Our current tax rate can't continue with an ageing population and provide the same services. .. even if we taxes the big companies the rightful amount...
I sometimes think those who retired prior to the iPhone will be thought of as the most lucky oaps We might live longer but buy the time i retire I might be 70
There is still a big group of people from late 40's upwards who will retire with good occupational pensions but after that things change.
US embassy move to Jerusalem leaves hundreds of elderly residents facing eviction The fanfare over the new US consulate hides the fears of 450 Russian migrants, some in their 90s, who face an uncertain future https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...mony-tel-aviv-elderly-residents-a8348546.html
not to worry they will just move/victimise some Palestinians to take thier land/houses and move them there
