On one hand I like that Trump doesn't back down to Putin. Putin needs to be slapped around before he respects you, on the other hand I don't trust Trump to not go too far. You need someone more wily to go head-to-head with Putin. Trump is all black or white.


There won't be direct war between East and West but with stubborn aggressive idiots in charge of the US and Russia then Syria could become am even worse place as the two sides take their anger out on each other there.

A Vietnam/Korea for the 21st Century is a potential possibility.

It's just posturing mate. The Russians can't stop them so they sabre rattle. There's no missile screen in Syria.

Just like mouthing off about nuking north Korea if thry attack Guam... unnecessary but no harm done as nobody has the capability of backing the big talk.

Absolutely. Putin was showing off all his toys off recently - beware the Yanks, as they have far, far more weapons that the public doesn't know about, yet the Russians do. And that is on purpose. My old mate Tom Stafford (well, I met him once) said we had no idea what the US have tested and possess over the last fifty years, and he, as an adviser to two presidents, would know.

Russia could cause a great deal of damage with cyber warfare, if only financial damage.

There again, most of the internet pass through US servers so the US can do a lot of cyber damage too. Russia has more of a culture for encouraging cyber uh... Creativity though.

Where Americans are playing plants vs zombies Russians are learning to plant code on computers to turn them into zombies.

Seems to me the situation has gone on for so long that the leftists that are left speaking on this topic are not getting air time as everyone is so used to it going on they can't make enough hysteria to make the news.

It seems to me theres a very active search and blast out "new" reasons to be angry but once something goes on a while it becomes the norm and ignored.

maybe there is also a well thats over there mentality i don't know.
