I have mate. And it's not trillions, in the uk it's something like £74m. And yes, some vaccines have caused damage to people. However, rather than looking at this in a black and white, vaccines = bad way, you need to see the bigger picture. Vaccines have likely saved the lives of hundreds of thousands of people who would otherwise have died, or suffered serious complications.

Would you say that all heart surgery is bad, because some people have died during heart surgery ? The fact is that heart surgery has saved countless numbers of lives compared to those that have died due to the surgery. It's the same with vaccines. You can't just pull a figure out of your arse or totally write something off, without putting into context.

Engineers are mainly know as good with numbers and science. Will be the reason I failed GCSE English, grafted my tits off through uni and later life, maybe have a little dyslexic leaning.

They should put me in charge of all nuclear weapons, we could have some fun.

Big Pharma - especially US pharma, are largely profiteering twats. However that doesn’t mean that they don’t actually produce some fantastic life saving or life extending drugs.

Testing regimes have moved on somewhat since the 60’s btw. New cancer drugs for example, have to go through 5 year human trials before being certified. Does that mean that there can never be issues with certified drugs in the future? No, as long term effects can never be ruled out, however much they try. Unless you literally had drugs on a human lifespan testing regime before release.

The problem that people have with big pharma profiteering is actually a problem with to do with capitalism.

The drugs and treatments that have been produced are a gift to the world, and there's an argument that the millions that go into R&D, development and testing need to be recouped.

It's the long term patents that become problematic, where pharma want to hold onto the patents for years on end and prevent cheap generic drugs being produced.

there are laws to prevent this and allow genetics. Sure I posted the percentage of generics that the NHS prescribe. It’s not allowed to be a closed shop, just like car parts for new models.

Yeah I left school at 15, not a qualification to my name, but did better in life than most with degrees, so it worked out ok, just like yourself. But like you say, probably had to work that much harder to achieve it.

makes the journey and end goal much sweeter?!. See many a graduate now that wants the world on a plate. I have no concern about being replaced with a high flier outa school now.

Agreed, and NICE have actually been extremely good at negotiating low prices for generic drugs for the NHS

Ironically, the same system that Trump wants to blow out of the water with a trade deal with the UK coz it's just not fair.

One of the postives that comes from it, I probably gave people chances in life, that more educated people might not have. The benefit of that is they will always graft their socks off for you. It's also sweet when you meet them years later in life and they thank you, that's a great feeling.
