Ah, crap. It's a metatarsal, so that's 6 weeks or more depending on the surgery. Back in April. Likely to miss 5 matches, possibly 6 with So'ton.

Apparently the normal time for metatarsal recovery is 4-8 weeks before you are playing again, depending on the type of break.
Mate theres what 12 weeks left? It takes a good 4 weeks to get up to speed again after a time out of training and football matches..
I was just going on what it said the average time out was for footballers with a broken metatarsal. Admittedly I did google it and the source was goal.com, but it said that was time out the side. Physiotherapy is a massive part of the treatment now so general fitness would already be there. The issue would be match sharpness.
It's not season ending, but lookin at our fixtures we're going to have to get the job done without him.

I've broken loads of bones in my feet. It depends where etc. He might be back in 2-3 weeks. Worst case is usually 6 weeks. Not great news but lets not get suicidal. I'd be having a serious look at the youth sides though to see if there are any young right backs who look promising and can press the ****ing ball. Krafth is hard to dislike from a professional perspective but he's just old school and poor for me. I'd play Schar there if not. Or Fernandez who is one of our best crossers and loves pressing the ball.
Anything but Krafth basically.
I think Jacob Murphy is gash and he'd be ahead of Krafth![]()
I really hope that one of the changes that comes in with our new approach is that we start developing the youngsters and start trusting them with game time when the need arises, rather than playing others out of position. The value to us in the long run would be massive.
It seems pretty inconvenievable that a professional footballer would be told to weight bear with a potential unstable fracture in his foot. Even the Sunderland Royal wouldn't do that to him.It did when I broke my ankle. I was told to come back when the swelling had gone down.

My gut feeling is that he has a soft tissue injury. But I can't look into it.
Anyone but Krafth from what he's shown.
I'd rather play Almiron or Murphy rb, but Murphy really is exposed when playing there.
I would expect Howe to go with Krafth... Tbh Krafth was up against I believe Coutinho and buendia yesterday for 45 mins and we didn't concede.
