walking the dogs the other morning, scraped my elbow , now there is green **** coming out of it, any advice apart from cutting my arm off?

Green ****? Like pus from the wound? Does it smell funky?

Sounds like you might have an infection and probably need anti biotics and likely the wound cleaning out.

waiting for my daughter to respond, she is a nurse. Showed it to my house partner today, she was horrified, we have split up so never bothered her with it

Yeah sounds like you're going to need to head to the doctors.

A while back, I almost lost a finger trying to let a wound heal itself when it was infected.

I wouldn't wait too long mate. Time is of the essence.
This is very true. I burned my arm on a hot wok once. It didn’t bother me but after a while it developed a red border around the scar. Showed it to a chemist who advised me to see a nurse at my doctors practise. She looked at it, didn’t say anything, took a swab and told me they would have the results next morning. Very next morning I got a delivery of anti-biotics. I hate to think what might have happened if I hadn’t sought medical advice when I did. Don’t delay, mate. Once an infection is in your blood anything can happen.

Infections are not to be messed around with.

I contracted an infection on the brain during Covid and people thought I was a gonner.

I was eating painkillers by the fistful and they weren't making a dead on the pain in my skull.

Think it was 7 or 8 days in hospital in the end.
