Can we put that to bed now please?
2.26 - Ground was faster than trials day.
I might have been convinced that she wasnt the same horse, I might still have doubts that she is despite her win, but never once did I entertain the opinion that she was a mudlark who needed soft ground, it was an absurd insinuation after her devastating Prix De Diane performance last season. Ground would never have beaten this filly in the Arc last season, an impossibility.
She proved last year wasnt a fluke one off performance, to those who thought it might be and maybe never seen the Diane, and she proved that she doesnt need soft at all. Who knows what went on this season, mentally, physically, but she wasnt beaten because she needed soft ground, they told you going into Ascot they werent concerned about the ground.
So she goes out as one of the great fillies of all time, history, I said she was the best since Zarkava and while Zark is still the undisputed queen for me, if another filly comes along in the next ten years, "the best since Treve" is what I will be proclaiming.
