Groundhog day comes to the Valley. Either rubbish new players or yesterdays men. I suppose I'm hoping Poyet will come good for us but my heart just wants the Belgians out. If we do avoid relegation, we all know where we'll be in twelve months time.
katrien is our now acting chief scout. i saw her thinking out loud earlier, it went something like this...
"where did i last see some good players? oh yeah, i know, i gave them all away for peanuts when they played for us, i'll get them back!"
absolute disaster all of this. her limited knowledge and past handling of these players means we're probably being bent over with regard to these signings

Our transfer policy reminds me of a dog that eats its own vomit.
Anyone else spotting a familiar pattern -
1. Sign sh1t, cheap foreign players
2. Sack sh1t, cheap foreign coach when results slump
3. Sign experienced free transfer journeymen & loans to stay up
Repeat ad nauseum.....

Normally I'd be enraged by this, but TBH I hope it happens, because of the hatred which it will engender, possibly even among the West Stand Customers. Even CASTrust would have to join us.
That's where I have ended up as well FHB. It's war. After the stupid run of results, and the worst start of any RD appointed manager, Mr Bean is still in charge, Piocchio is still CEO, although in hiding, and we appear to be trying to avert global warming by recycling everything posible except the old club spirit.
Is it possible the return of Poyet and maybe Yann could persuade some of the more timid protesters that the owners have 'learnt' from their mistakes. Sadly, that is very true. For me, those of us discussing this on the various CAFC fórums seem to have Access to material the rest don't have or don't care about, and it leads us to believe everyone is angry when the reality of it is there are probably quite a lot who see the last couple of months as another blip, don't know or care who KM is, and think the new pitch is quite attractive. Every major gaffe drives some more over the brink, and selling an asset like Lookman to our local rivals should really drive the masses to riot. Even relegation now seems like a minor problem if it drives the Belgians back over the channel.

Never underestimate the inherent sogginess of the average Charlton fan

George Moncur is the latest name. Decent player who has gone about rebuilding his career well. Fear is I don't see him coming straight in to the team and having an impact like we need him too.

I have heard that The 36 year old Danny Gabbidon will be the next one in. He is currently playing in the Welsh Leagues. If this is true I have had it with this Club.
Anyone know how many players a League club is allowed to borrow? I have tried to google it without success.
One answer says four, but league rules say up to five can be named in your match-day squad.
We have borrowed four (Makienok, Williams, Poyet and McAleny), but McAleny has left. Can we borrow another one?

I don't think there is a limit due to the 5 in match day squad rule. As I can recall on several occasions where teams have had to leave loan players out of the match day squad. I'm pretty certain that happened under parky as well.

52.2.2 ... no Club may sign more than 4 loan Players (Standard, International, Emergency or Youth) from another Club (or club) in any Season.

This is ambiguous. By "another club" do they mean "from any one club"in an attempt to thwart the Watford situation where they signed 10 from Udinese?
EDIT: Yes, the latter is the case.
