Dear Mr Hughes,
I see from the Stoke City web page that you are hoping that the injury to Ryan Shawcross is muscular rather than a re-occurrence of his earlier back problems.
However I believe you are responsible for this injury in your pairing of Ryan with a certain Mr Wollshite, resulting in Ryan having to carry the said Mr Wollshite around for half of the season. Please stop this pairing immediately or sooner if the case allows and purchase a more suitable candidate for the second centre back role.
The said candidate should be able to A, tackle B, move faster than paint and C. be fully aware and capable of his duties.
Please don't try slotting that Mr Wilson into the role as any centre back who turns his back while trying to block a shot is essentially a big girls blouse and should be serving tea and biscuits rather than being in the team.

yours in anticipation Mr Not Amhughes'd

Finally true recognition for Shawx - shame its attached to being in demand!

Thompson told Sky Sports: "When Liverpool evaluate at the end of the season and look at the sort of goals they conceded, I wouldn't be averse to see them looking towards Shawcross as a solution.

Shawcross is out of the Capital One Cup semi-final second leg with a back injury

"In fact I think he would be absolutely ideal and he's been one of the most underrated centre-backs over the last five seasons. You just have to look at Stoke's stats with and without him."

Thanks Phil, tell us something we don't know.

Thanks for the article Smithers

We should be in on this!

Leicester want Loic Remy to boost their Premier League title bid and have had a £7.6 million bid rejected for the Chelsea striker. (London Evening Standard)

Sky's view!

Stoke sit in ninth place and just nine points off the Champions League places, but they have been inactive in the transfer window so far. That could change before the deadline, however, with Sky sources saying they are interested in rivalling Southampton for the signature of Giannelli Imbula.
Hughes has refused to be drawn on links with Imbula, Shane Long and Saido Berahino, but he has rejected reports that they are interested in Burnley's Michael Keane.

Remy looks like he is going to Leicester - think we've missed one there.

Rumour still going!

STOKE IN FOR BERAHINO?
Stoke City
are preparing a bid for West Brom striker Saido Berahino, according to The Times.
Tottenham are interested in the England U21 forward, who saw a deal to move to White Hart Lane collapse in the summer.
Berahino has scored four goals in 17 first-team appearances for the Baggies this season.

Looks like we're back in for him and Newcastles bid has been rejected! Maybe Pulis wants some of our players?
