He's out of contract in the Summer anyway so wouldn't surprise me. Walters re signed, Peter back in the squad, 12 million invested in Diouf, playing a false No9 and the club sniffing for a new striker - it doesn't look great.
Rumour still going! STOKE IN FOR BERAHINO? Stoke City are preparing a bid for West Brom striker Saido Berahino, according to The Times. Tottenham are interested in the England U21 forward, who saw a deal to move to White Hart Lane collapse in the summer. Berahino has scored four goals in 17 first-team appearances for the Baggies this season.
After reading this it got me thinking that TP might want a deal with cash and players. Could this mean a couple of his old favourites might go the other way? BERAHINO FUTURE STILL UNCLEAR Tony Pulis last night said striker Saido Berahino's future at West Bromwich Albion is still unclear. Berahino played the last half-hour during West Brom's 2-2 draw at Chelsea last night, and has been linked with both Stoke and Tottenham in the British press. Asked about his future, the Baggies boss said: "We will see, his situation is up in the air."
I never understand clubs who devalue their own asset. Berahino is a good example - they had a 25 million offer last season after a successful period rejected it because it was "too late in the window to replace him". He's hardly featured this term, had little effect on the pitch and is valued at 15 million? Pulis/Chairman are half way through this window, at what point does it become too late again?
Berahino...so we buy him, then, how long would it be before he would sulk/go on strike until he was sold to a 'bigger' club. Surprised that Pulis has put up with it for so long.
Not agreeing with player power but clubs are businesses, you either cash in on the player or maximise his ability on the pitch. Pulls has previous with having a valuable player, not selling them, letting them rot on the bench and not getting any sale value at the end.
Charlie Austin signed for Southampton for 4 million! That's cheap, very cheap. Looks like QPR have lost about 10 million since the last window. This made me laugh!
doesn't seem to be much happening on the transfer market, hope we don't have people leave with no time to replace them.
Adam is now being hunted on a loan option and Sidwell and Ireland look to be on their way as well. Like you say, doesn't seem much happening at the moment but the fact that we were legitimately linked with Berahino was surprising and positive - it would indicate that we are looking for specific high quality players only.
BERAHINO IN DEMAND Tottenham, Newcastle, Chelsea and Stoke City are seriously interested in signing striker Saido Berahino, according to Sky sources. Enquiries have been made about the England U21 striker, but the Baggies are yet to receive a concrete offer from any club. Berahino has been out of favour under Tony Pulis this season, but the four Premier League rivals are all interested in taking him away from The Hawthorns. However, reports that West Brom have put a £30m price tag on him are very wide of the mark, according to Sky sources. But Albion - who want to keep the 22-year-old - believe they are in strong position going towards the end of the transfer window.
Wilson being hunted by Bournemouth & West Brom plus this...... If all these do go, there must be someone coming in.
