hes the wrong player we should have brought in omar from grimsby, whatevere are we playing at we would have been better of loaning a youngster from a prem side this rerally isnt the correct way to build a team

We simply cannot afford the wages of Premiership loanees.

Better to get some one from lower leagues who is desperate for a break and run out. Or a Championship regular sub who wants/deserves to be in starting line up.

I agree with the comments about Matt Smith holding it up and laying it off for Conor, I said at the weekend that's what we needed for Washington to get goals, let's see.

Yeah It might sound good but will Hollow play 2 up front? Probably find Smith up front on his own then he will come off for Washington when things go wrong.

Six games in 28 days of February will probably define our season. So let's see where we stand then.
We shall know well our planning, knowledge and strategy will have paid off.
Hold on to your hats!!!

Nice to see some positive comments from Foolham fans re Smith on social media. He may not be as bad as I thought

I'll speak to my Fulham ST holder mate, who has always been honest about his appraisals of players and is a genuine good bloke and fan.
Until then I reserve judgement but feel we've reached our realistic level .

Wolves have just paid 13 mill for Costa who was on loan ! What chance have we got, when they're spending that kind of dough ? While I'm less than enamoured with our current signings,i'm hoping that they might come good. The lad Goss might turn out to be a gem, although he sounds a little injury prone. Just hope he can step up from kids level to the men's game,if he does he might just be our missing link in midfield. In my eyes ha can't be any worse than Perch , Henry and Luongo, who in my eyes is massively overrated by many on here,i just can't see what he brings to the table apart from winning a few tackles. Freeman has a fine left foot, but drifts in and out of games too frequently. His goals tally is less than impressive, but I look forward to seeing whether he improves with us or just stays at the level he is. Hoping we can draw his full potential out. So it looks like Smith is coming in,as we refused to buckle to Rotherham's demands for Ward. I'm glad we didn't wilt and pay them the 5 mill, although it's psatently obvious we're not going to spend 5 mill in total for all our new recruits. I'm not a huge fan of Smith,he is a bit of a one trick pony. If Ollie plays him up top on his own,he's even more senile than I thought after Saturday's team selection. It is possible that if we go 2 up top with Smith and Washington,it could well pay dividends, but we have to at least try this formation for god's sake. I'm just hoping that Mackie and Manning don't get put on the bench, and left there to rot. Manning especially has been superb since coming into the team and he deserves to keep his place and prosper, to think we we're going to let him leave for nothing a few weeks ago is beyond belief and really sums up the terrible way our club is run. Anyway, lets see how the dice fall and see who arrives on deadline day. I have tomorrow evening off,so after I've had my dinner i'll try and post any info I see on Sky's Deadline Day coverage. Here's to a hopefully bright new future !

We spent money like water as well. Look where it got us!

I remember Smith from his days at Oldham where he starred when they beat Liverpool in the Cup. He has to play with a smaller more mobile partner up front. Gives us options but I wonder how Ollie is shaping the team when he keeps chopping and changing. I'll be happy if we just stay up to be honest...

Championship promotion chasers Derby and Norwich are trying to get a deadline day deal done for Wigan winger Yanic Wildschut.

Wigan confirmed last night Wildschut had handed in a transfer request but their valuation of the player is yet to be met.

Wildschut only joined Wigan for £1m from Middlesbrough on a three-and-a-half-year deal 12 months ago.

It is understood the fees being offered so far hover around the £4m mark.

Should Wildschut leave, Wigan manager Warren Joyce will aim to get a replacement in.

£4 million for Wildschut, the football world is crazy. Same as we paid for Charlie a couple of years ago.

On his day he's a beast but you're lucky to get one good game a month out of him. Ludicrous money.
