He has just rejected a new deal with them to join us - the bhoys are fuming about it, and are refusing to let him go until January?

Now I know what the 8-8-8 strategy is, how many of the 8 'elite' players have we signed so far?

Or how many of the squad left over from last season are considered among the 'elite'?

Looking tonight at what CAFC has put in the shop window, it’s fair to say it’s more Barnardos than Harvey Nicholls.

Let’s be generous -

Edun - paid £75,000 …will be lucky to get £75,000 back

Ness - Academy - but linked with League 2 clubs. A nominal fee.

Taylor - free agent from Burton. 6 assists & 0 goals in his short time with us. £50,000 at most.

Fraser - p1ss taker extraordinaire. If only we’d kept our receipt on an elastic band.
Age, recent track record and likely destination - £100,000 at most, and that’s very optimistic.

In short, even in the highly improbable scenario of the club finding buyers in the next two weeks for the 4 players above, we are looking at £200,000 at most …which as we all know is loose change when you need an elite (cough) creative player.

The only thing elite is to describe the 'quality' of our recruitment team<yikes>
 
NJ surely knows who he wants to sign and where we are lacking, yet the SMT are allowing the unwanted players to hold the club to ransom .

So we're going to hoof our way to the target of 15th placer (an improvement on last season).

Still a tall order with our three best players from the 2023-24 season gone.
Is NJ up to the task?
