Let it go. Lardy. Huge mistake if they sell May.

Fair play.
I am as prone to sense of humour failures as much as anyone - possibly more so.
Not being to a game for 18 months has been nagging at me a bit. I really used to love being there - win, lose or draw.

Will probably buy in for this coming season.

Sadly no.
Had a ST for the 2022-23 season but had to give up going around halfway through as I got Sciatica and couldn't sit for two hours.
Then last Summer money was a bit tight so I decided to buy tickets on an occasional basis and go to whatever games I could manage.
But in the end I never got round to it.

Money matters are better now so buying a ST for this coming season would not be a problem (maybe even my old seat, which was not close to the halfway line so is unlikely to have been snapped up by anyone else).
Thought I would wait to see what business the Club did this Summer.
Frankly finishing 16th after a long flirt with relegation in 2023-24 didn't exactly sell the idea to me.

The new parking restrictions in Charlton are not good either - I always used to park along Wolfe Crescent. But I expect I can get something sorted out if I decide to buy a ticket. I do still return to SE7 almost every Saturday to visit my old mum. Unfortunately her house doesn't have a driveway out front!
I hope your mum keeps good health mate.

Looks as though we are interested in signing John Ruddy from Birmingham City.

A very experienced top flight keeper - this is encouraging news if accurate.

We have spoken to Ruddy, I have heard. But another goalkeeper is nearer. Also Alex Mitchell to be announced next week and a new striker is close.

I have never heard of either of the strikers we are linked with, and neither are as good as Alfie May on closer examination.

I watched Ahdame for Cambridge last Season and he was decent. Davies is the goalkeeper.

It’s complete madness. Sell the divisions top scorer to a promotion rival.

Nathan Jones’ first serious mistake, IMO.

Not surprised about the SMT, they are useless.

You build a team around Alfie May, not sell him to a likely promotion rival.

What does this say about our ambition ?

23 goals from 43 games in a poor side is going to be very difficult to replace, without a real spend up on proven quality now.

I read that Jones thinks Alfie May can’t play a high tempo pressing game, what a load of bollox, he had more energy than the rest of our team last season.

The strong suspicion must be that this is yet another short term, take the money and run decision with ambition/ promotion coming a distant second.

Methven can feed his fan pets the PR all he likes, selling Alfie May in our position is rank stupidity, and the vast majority know it.
