Before that I wasn’t one for personal insults or derogatory remarks.
However, if the sort of insults that DP and WUM have been engaging in are now acceptable on this forum, then the forum is not for me.
I’ll return when they’ve gone.
All I can say is it was always a friendly place here before Royston and Dicky left so there must be another reason the atmosphere became tetchy
I think there should be a new Golden Forum Rule next season. Put simply
“If you don’t attend the games, you don’t post on Charlton forums”.
It’s noticeable that the handful of biggest (and in one case, smallest) gobshites on Charlton forums don’t actually go to the games, and thus have nothing of relevance to contribute.
To give an example of this sad type of creature, and to pluck a random name out of the hat … @A likeable little fella
Goes to about as many games in a calendar year as he has unpaid for bunk ups, and yet serving a lifetime ban from one of the three CAFC forums, and polluting the other two with his daily drivel

Josh Edwards coming in. I also think that Alex Mitchell has signed but won’t be announced until next week, according to Rich Cawley.

Josh Edwards has expressed his excitement after completing his move to Charlton.
The versatile defender, who joins from Dunfermline Athletic for an undisclosed fee, has agreed a four-year deal with the Addicks.
“I’ve been ready to sign for a while but I’m glad it’s finally done now,” he said. “Towards the end of the season I heard that there was interest from a few clubs in League One. We played Ayr [United] on a Friday night. I ended up playing quite well and I scored, and then it just built up from there.
“There were more teams interested, but Charlton just stood out straight away. I made it my priority and we’re here now.”
Key to Edwards’ arrival was the vision sold to him by Nathan Jones: “I really liked what he told me about the club and the direction it’s going in, so I’m really looking forward to getting started and seeing where it takes us.”
Edwards has been very successful in Scotland, featuring in the Scottish Championship Team of the Year this season, and the Scottish League One Team of the Year the campaign before.
But in moving to the capital, he is fulfilling a lifelong ambition. “I’ve wanted to play in England since I was a wee boy, so I’m really excited to do this,” he said.
“It’s a bit of a change of pace. I’m not a big city person to be perfectly honest. It will be a big change but I’m looking forward to it.”
With the players returning for pre-season training in just over a week, Edwards cannot wait to get going. “I’m excited to come back in pre-season and meet all the boys, and hopefully make some pals,” he said. “It’s a completely fresh start - I don’t know anyone - but I’m looking forward to it.”
