Where did you get that from - the Beano ?
The new owners didn’t rate May ?
Now listen ‘ere fella, it’s 100%
Although maybe I should have posted this on the CL, ITWV and other forums (merged) thread

can we keep the Elfs schtick to the 14 other threads created for that purpose ?
let’s keep this thread as the preserve of the 4 posters on here who want to talk about football.
Jones will not sell somebody who has scored 70 goals in 3 seasons, simple.
Aside from this I cannot see a club coming in with an offer we'd be silly to turn down, he's 30 years of age.
I hope you're right. But outlandish things sometimes happen in football as we know.
If Jones & May don't get on, I wonder if that would influence the Gaffer's thoughts should the situation arise.
But proven 20+ goalscorers at CAFC are rarer than hens' teeth.
If May did go, I would be sceptical of the Club securing a replacement with as many goals in him.
We still have a lot to do, just to prevent next season being another relegation battle.
And each time it happens, the likelier it will be that we'll fail to escape the drop.
Blimey Lardy, you need some happy pills.
Keep it up Lardi. Realism over blind optimism. I like it.I don't blame Charlton fans for wanting to largely forget about last season, and look to the future with optimism.
But I currently see no basis for such positivity. It merely seems like wishful thinking and sentimentality to me.
The line between looking hopefully ahead and burying our heads in the sand is pretty blurry.
We are in deep s**t.
Summer is the time to begin climbing out, but will that happen?
Downwards is still the path of least resistance. And that's where we are heading as far as I'm concerned - until I see proof otherwise.

What more proof do you need ? !Well I am going to take the positive view, until proven otherwise.

We have our richest ever owners and finished in our lowest ever league position![]()
In season 1925/26 we finished 21st out of 22 in the Third Division South, which I make even worse. 35 points from 42 games, which would be 46 under 3 for a win. According to my Colin Cameron History book. I'm hoping that the appointment of Jones as manager signifies an improvement in the way the club is run, and a reduction in Andy Scott's influence over recruitment. Recruitment has been the problem; before Scott we has Martin Sandgaard and Thomas Driesen, with a transfer embargo thrown in, so it's not a new problem. What more proof do you need ? !

I'm really pleased. He's the only player apart from Small who can take players on and beat them. His issue is confidence, and he seemed to be getting that back after a miserable spell under Appleton. He was decent under Holden too.Tyreece Campbell has signed a new two year contract.
Thoughts ?
Personally, I’d like to see him go out on a season long loan. He’s got a bit of improving to do.
Exactly, we respect the thread here. No derailing.Very similar.
