I think one is likely to be the chap from the lower reaches of the Scottish Championship. Not sure about the second. The two Luton players were both released, so no reason that either of those couldn’t be announced straightaway ? It’s still early days.
Sounds like Luke Berry has fallen through A mate tells me he’s signing for Wycombe, others saying he’s failed a medical (in which case a 5 year deal from us must be a matter of days away). I thought Nathan Jones requested that we did our transfer business by the end of June ?
So it looks like the only outfield player who will be coming in early is the Scottish left back and that isn’t even confirmed at this stage. If he does come in, of course we should all see what he’s like after a few games rather than judge him purely on the standard of the league he’s coming from. But on paper he certainly doesn’t look like one of the 7 elite players that we still need to get us out of league 1. We’ve got more than enough of the middle group of 8, good quality academy kids, but I still see absolutely nothing to suggest that we will be bringing in those elite 7. We simply can’t afford it under the SMT’s current finance model.
This 8-8-8 idea is pure hogwash. Talk of elite L1 players is an oxymoron. None of that stuff under Curbs, or Sir Lennie. Or Lord Bowyer or SCP come to that.
I agree. But it is the very clearly stated aim of the SMT and they haven’t come out and changed it, so they will be judged on it for the time being. I already know that they will fail as they simply can’t afford the 7 extra elite players (or players that would get into any other L1 team) and they must know it also. It’s all bullsh*t.
Great news that we have signed a keeper , and a good one at that. it is clear from Nathan’s interview today that both little Isted & lumbering AMB are finished at the club, NJ talks about us bringing in two new stoppers this summer. I really like Nathan Jones, he reminds me of a cross between Lee Bowyer and Max Boyce.
INCOMING !!!!!! https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/spor...duo-with-medicals-delay-due-to-summer-breaks/ Berry and Edwards, depending on medicals, according to Cawley.
Scott still has work to do, moving out Edun, the 2 goalies and surplus midfielders. The recruitment has NJ's fingerprints now.
He’s nowhere near good enough for the SPL dear boy Cawley reporting that we’re paying a five figure sum for him. Isn’t it just great having multiple multi-billionaire owners
