Last season we started late because of uncertainty where we'd end up after the play-offs. This season we can start early since there is no uncertainty where we've ended up. Since his name appeared a few times in the 'v Man City' thread might as well start with Fabri (Fabricio Agosto Ramírez). please log in to view this image Strong rumours, started by the Turkish papers, that a deal has been struck for him to return to Besiktas - they're not at all happy with the Liverpoll keeper they took on loan to replace him. Fabri is on contract to us until 2021 with an option of a further year. Assuming the rumour is true, were going to take a hit. Bought for €3m Besiktas best offer is likely to be €2m.
Hopefully joining him will be Anguissa, who has been useless (£30m - 0 goals, 0 assists, 1 red card), Seri, who has been next to useless, Le Marchand who is an absolute liability in defence, Mawson who is never fit and seems to be made of glass (injured putting on his boots for Christ’s sake) so not worth keeping on the wage bill and possibly Bryan, although the Championship is probably more his level so could be worth holding on to. Quite frankly I don’t care if we lose money on those jokers. Serves the club right for its lunatic transfer policy and appalling scouting. On a more positive note, I wouldn’t mind keeping hold of Babel. Him and Mitrovic would score plenty of goals in the Championship. Cairney and Sess have been particularly disappointing this year. They both might benefit from a move and the money that any Sess move brings in would be handy, plus it’s time to let the lad go to a club where he can learn off a higher standard of player than we have at Fulham as he really hasn’t kicked on this year in the way everyone hoped he would. As for purchases - no idea, really, but whoever comes in simply has to be better than last summer’s waste of money. Yours truly, Angry of Seville.
If you take we will be losing Fabri, Rico, Chambers, Mensah, Nordveit, Schurrle, Vietto and contracts are up for Odoi, Kebano, Ayite, Babel, Markovic. so that is a big chunk of the squad. Players I let go Cairney, Anguissa, Seri, Le Marchand, Ream, Djalo, Christie, Cisse, Fonte, Kamara.
Having to replace a big chunk of the squad, that'll be a new experience for us then. Oh, wait and minute... Is Nordveit a loanee? I thought we'd signed him permanently.
Think Nordveit is on a contract but only until the end of the season - 6 month job. If we let everyone go as per SBM's post we would get rid of a huge chunk of the wage bill, which would be handy. My only concern is that if we can't offload Anguissa, Seri, etc, then we haven't been smart enough to put relegation wage cut clauses in their contracts. Given the hubris of Tony K and the (completely unfounded) assumption that we would be in the PL for the foreseeable given the investment they were making, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if they didn't.
Just for completeness the following is the contract position for each player at the end of the season. End of Loan Nordtveit Vietto Fosu-Mensah Chambers Rico End of 6 month contract Babel Markovic Long Term Loan Schurrle (till end of 2020 but with clauses re relegation) 'General' Contracts please log in to view this image
I think we should keep the likes of Johansen, Odoi and Ayite for the Championship, all of them are decent enough players for that level and have experience in it. We are already likely to lose a lot of the higher earners, we will end up in the position of needing to sign a whole new squad which is never ideal. We saw this season a lot of changes dont always work.
No great surprise to see Jean Michael Seri's name in the frame for a move. Serie A side Napoli are the club interested. please log in to view this image
No real surprise that cameo man Lazar Markovic won't be staying. Surprising though that Anderlecht are interested in him. please log in to view this image Link to brief story: https://www.voetbalkrant.com/nl/nie...den-bij-onder-meer-antwerp-en-stvv-op-het-oog This of course is the same Anderlecht whose offices were raided by the Police today - concerning money laundering connected to Aleksandar Mitrovic's £13m transfer to Newcastle in 2015.
It's where Swansea found themselves. In the championship with prem league wages. 100k a week for bony, 45k a week for each of the Ayew brothers, plus a ruck more. And difficult to shift them off their books. For different reasons, don't think other teams would want any of our players. At least they don't cost us much I suppose. If we join you in the championship next season, which looks likely, it will be interesting to see the relative recruitment policies. Will your owner continue to chuck money at it? Whichever division we're in, a striker and 3 midfielders are a must. We've been goal shy for a couple seasons. Gunnarson Is off to Turkey (don't blame him, he's been a good servant and his body isn't up to the rigours of the championship any more) with Arter and camarasa heading back to their parent clubs. Hey ho, was fun while it lasted.
English Football League clubs have voted to introduce different deadlines for the summer transfer window for sides in the Championship, and those in League One and League Two. Championship clubs will have until the Thursday before the start of the Premier League season to complete any loan or permanent signings. Championship clubs will have until 17:00 BST on Thursday, 8 August to complete their transfer business. Let's hope Tony Khan is aware of the rules. The 2019-20 EFL season is scheduled to start on Saturday, 3 August - although one fixture is expected to be moved to 2 August in order to be televised. Third and fourth tier sides will still have until the end of August.
Liverpool are showing more than a little interest in full back Cody Drameh. please log in to view this image The 17 year old, who has been a regular in the U23s this season and made the England U18 team, is in his final Scholarship year with Fulham. Therefore 'ripe for the picking' if the Club don't make a move.
Saw this list of Championship players available in the window. Frankly none caught my eye. A couple of years ago maybe, but not now. Posting however, so that you can tell me who I've missed. List: https://www.skysports.com/football/...p-players-will-be-out-of-contract-this-summer
I see what you mean - an underwhelming collection. Martin Olsson used to be decent if we wanted another left back, but he's 30 now so quite possibly beginning the downward dip of his career. Also at Swansea (and also 30) Wilfried Bony could be worth a punt, but he might prove to be an expensive one in terns of wages. They were the best I could see, and I'd be quite happy to avoid both of them.
A couple of players leaving Leicester, Danny Simpson and Shinji Okazaki, both good and industrious although nearing the their career ends. Good enough for a Championship challenge for sure and wanting regular football.
Wouldn't touch Simpson with a barge pole. Always liked Okazaki though - intelligent footballer. Unfortunately injury and age are now against him.
Is Khan going to dig deep again? Will you free up funds from sales? Pretty sure we'll be shopping in a different store to you again. Just need to see if it is Colin or A N Other doing the shopping.
Interesting that Harry Arter has decided to move on from your lot just as his brother-in-law gets the Fulham job.
