an interesting article hived off the sun stating BOURNEMOUTH WILLING TO PAY £50K A WEEK ... how unsettling! At present AS on less than £10k. It sort of puts the kibosh on being able to offer a new contract as potentially should he move then CIRCA UPWARDS OF £20K would be the base line!! so stop him from having a contract at BCFC! Funny old game football we have players that are more money than those actually playing regularly and at the end of contract ...
the way contracts work now is detrimental to clubs, sadly! they can miss a half season get paid and then move on for free. There should be a clause "invented" that says any player running his contract down will get an independant valuation of his "free fee" ! base it on "independant valuation " / last 6 month's wages / new contract offered ... new club offered salary! and maybe 15-25% of subsequent transfer fee [ use all or some of these plus any other that might occur ]
eg HNM running contract down any club that signs him could be asked to / have to pay a fee of say £2m or he has a tag of 15% of subsequent transfer!

No, haven’t seen our new keeper yet but he seems ok, but the young French lad isn’t ready yet, if we sold Max we’d need to bring another one in.
The keeper we’ve signed is only till the end of the season. It’s more cover for Max and to see where we want to go with keepers. But I suspect he’s on a lot lower than Bents saving us money.
We sent the young French keeper out to get game time so he has a chance of playing in the under 21’s French team in the euros or WC that is this summer. And to get more experience.

In his interview Nige said the keeper was brought in to challenge Max, provide experience & it will allow both sides an opportunity to look at the possibilities in relation to extending his contract beyond the end of the season. (paraphrasing a bit there).
