I do wonder that with Lampard and Cole we're losing a couple of Home Grown players so maybe Bertrand will be kept? Although I imagine if Filipe does get injured or is out of form then Jose will just switch Azpi across so can't really see him getting any game time at all.

8M is a decent fee for Ba IMO, about what we paid and is now 29. So we're currently with Costa, Lukaku and Torres which is much stronger than last season. I reckon maybe one more signing will be made before the window ends.

Fabregas makes up one of them home grown players.
 
I'll say two more with a CB and a CM. Varane and Khedira favourites, although I would prefer Hummels over the former.

Lukaku's future will decide if we go in for a third extra signing.
 
Any of you lads heard anything about Lukaku? Strong rumours around Merseyside that he's on the verge of a permanent switch to Goodison.

If our spending is done, I cannot see Lukaku going anywhere to be honest.
Right now we have Costa and Torres in the striker role, if we are not buying another striker then Lukaku is staying.
Starting the season with only two strikers in your squad would be madness, and I cannot see Jose doing that.

For me next season the pecking order has to be

first choice: Costa
Second choice: Lukaku
10103563th choice: Torres (infact lets just chloroform the cnut and kidnap him and make sure he cannot play)

In short, to me, no more strikers signings = Lukaku is staying and will be in our squad next year.

What Mourinho says and does are not one and the same.....

For Lukaku to stay this season you'll have to get him to commit to a new deal as he's only got 2 years left, plus Maureen seldom changes his view on players and he patently didn't fancy the lad last summer and there's been some discord between them since.

There's been strong rumours in the last couple of days around Liverpool that a deals about done and Dominic King has said it'll be sealed in the next couple of days in the Mail today.


We'll see, I just wondered if any of the Chelsea ITK types had heard anything
 
Lukaku could leave, but I can't see us going into the season with just Costa and Torres as our strikers.

Complete rubbish.
No way we would sell him to Liverpool, unless Jose has gone insane. Then again he did sell Mata to United.

Can't see this happening at all though imo.

I don't think anyone knows for sure how this will pan out. Just this morning I've heard Drogba is returning and A Madrid have bid for Torres.

We'll start the season with 3 strikers, Costa is the only definite one though.

Could be Costa, Torres, Lukaku.

Could be Costa, Drogba, Bamford!

Not quite sure why I mistook you for a Liverpool fan Tobes, must have had a temporary brain tumour or something.
I know that you are from the Blue side of Liverpool, they hate the f**k out of you on their board, even though you do sometimes have some interesting things to say.
(And other times are just outright trolling them, but hey.....thats your job as an Everton fan <ok>)

I have a bit of sport with them, but I mostly chat with them as there's no Evertonians on this site most of the time <grr>

Not sure how it's going to pan out with Lukaku, when I heard Drogba was coming back yesterday I thought he'd be nailed on to leave, but today there's rumours of Torres going back to Spain, so who knows.
 
Piazon off to Frankfurt for the season.

Good move in my opinion, the guy needed to step up from Vitesse. Will be very interesting to see what happens with Hazard, Kalas and Piazon all plying their trade in the Bundesliga next season.

Also talks of Salah switching to the 17 shirt. Leaving open the number 15, and we all know a certain player who used to wear that number for Chelsea.
 
Drogba stories gathering momentum. I think it'll be at the expense of Lukaku who will be sold. Jose seems to have a problem with him.

If Lukaku does go I just hope there is a plan to get Bamford, Feruz etc into the squad in the near future.
 
What about Moses, we still have him on our books too.

I would rather we kept Lukaku and ditched Torres to be honest, but that doesnt look like its going to happen.

I said all along my striking preferences would be Costa, Lukaku as number 2 and sub and Drogba as backup and a coaching role.
Ba is gone, which is good, but Torres and Moses still need to git Da fook'
