Just Guarin and his agent have now both confirmed talks are on going with us regarding a deal in Jan. Looks like Jose was just playing it cool....
I read that Kakuta and Hutchinson have been recalled. I wonder if Kakuta in particular is to allow De Bruyne or Mata to leave in Jan? Hutchinson probably to cover injuries.
Traore having signed on Wednesday is also straight out on loan to Vitesse. Probably a sensible move but he looked quality in pre season.

I don't see Kakuta being brought in for cover at all, more likely to get rid of him. Not doing much out on loan so not really increasing his value to us ala Courtois, Piazon, T Hazard and Lukaku. If we were to recall a player to cover the loss of Mata or De Bruyne then Piazon would most likely be that guy.
Same with Hutchinson I am afraid, don't see him being brought in for cover when we have Kalas and Omeruo, both better in my opinion who can cover our RB and CB issues.
Other news it seems that Aitor Karanka and Peter Kenyon are using their friendship with Mourinho/Chelsea to get a few of our younger players in on loan. Omeruo, Ake, Chalobah and Bamford all being linked.

Also hearing that we may have bid 50m for Gonzalo Higuain, why on earth are we doing that. Firstly we should learn from the Shevchenko and Torres deals not to buy that big for players that aren't exactly tearing it up. Secondly, Diego Costa is a better player and has a release clause of 32m. Thirdly, if 50m is availbale for a striker, then why not Luis Suarez, knows the league and can play in the Champions League.

Jose has denied the bid and seems to be implying that we'll keep the current 3 for this season. Between the lines I think the strikers situation will be addressed in the summer with Lukaku and someone coming in and 2 of the 3 current going would be my guess.
For the fifth time Jose has said we will not be signing players in Jan so this thread is redundant until the summer.

You'd have to be a bit stupid to speculate about Jan transfers when the manager has said time and time again there won't be any.

Costa at 32 million (if true) looks a decent bet. Not entirely sure why he'd want to leave at the moment though. AMadrid are flying.
Given the wealth of talent we have in that position and with the likes of Piazon and Moses on loan, I wouldn't be adverse to selling. It seems there is a bit of an attitude problem there reading between the lines as to what Jose is saying. Like you say, he'd probably fetch close to 20 million (probably 17-18 IMO) which could be invested in other weaker areas.
Anyone hear the guy on five live last night re Mata and United? He seems pretty clued up on all things Chelsea and said United had enquired about Mata. Chelsea don't want to sell to a rival but are not sure if United are a rival anymore!!

Reports suggesting De Bruyne 17 million to Wolfsburg could be happening. We may regret this in the long run but we need better balance in the squad and 6 top players for 3 positions is hard to maintain, especially with other talent on loan.
If this goes through, who will take his place in the squad? Is Piazon on loan for the full year?
