I really do hope that you are being obtuse on purpose, PESKIE.

The media is trying to create a story about Bale, yet the only quote they have managed to get from a credible source has told them he's saying nothing, ergo there is absolutely nothing to report.
 
So why not just say 'we have not received a bid' if Spurs have not received a bid ?
Why invite the speculation and uncertainty if you can avoid it by answering the question honestly ?

I don't think anyone doubts that Real have made a bid for Bale, although no one really knows how much has been bid or under what terms. With respect, that isn't the news that is being fabricated, here. The real intent behind the story is to give the impression that Bale is maneuvering for a transfer, when there is absolutely no evidence for that, whatsoever.

I agree that there's no evidence yet for Bale trying to engineer a move, although that's what the Guardian are reporting, however I think we all know that without direct quotes from the player, then any behaviour attributed to him is merely speculative.

That's not irony you ****ing ****** <laugh> That's being completely transparent with what you thought AVB meant. Which it was, that he was skirting the question because he didn't want to give an honest answer. You saying 'It tells you everything', describes exactly that.

Even when you're backtracking you still manage to **** it up <laugh>
