Hummels in a year wouldn't be a bad shout, but might mean someone else pips us. Plus he'll be nearly 28 then so you'd want your money's worth. Hummells and Zouma as long term central defence looks very decent.

Would normally agree with that but this year I am at a loss as to who the next name is.

Pogba and Hazard would be the obvious ones. I'm hoping not the later obviously.

Eden looks like a smart kid. For my money, he will not go to Real to be #2 to Ronaldo.

I hope Ronaldo continues there for 3 or 4 years and wins nothing <ok>.

Not much gone on incoming wise but on paper we've got some impressive loans sorted out.

Christensen at Monchengladbach will be playing in the Champions League as will Pasalic at Monaco if he gets a game and going by what it took to get him, he'll play. Van Ginkel testing himself in the Prem at a decent side in Stoke and then Brown and Baker getting game time in the Eredivisie is massive for their experience. They might even make Europe yet too. Hopefully we can get somewhere for Bamford too.

Remember Jose said at the end of the season that he wants 2-3 additions. I don't consider Falcao or Begovic additions, they've replaced Cech and Drogba.

Linked with Witsel today who would fit in perfectly alongside Matic, really rate him. Would take Pedro as well but i still think we need another Centre Back.

Agree that we need another CB.
We have Terry, Cahill and Zouma, plus Ivan can play there in a pinch.
But I think we need another CB.

I think now is a good time to bring them into the side. That way if they do struggle (and it happens, look at Mangala) then we'd have enough other players in the squad to step up in their place. JT can't go on forever and i'm not a huge fan of Cahill!

Sounds like we are definitely on the same wavelength there.
Cahill isn't bad, I just think we could do better.
Zouma looks really good, but at the end of the day, we still only have 3 recognised, senior players who play exclusively at CB. Need at least 4 for me.
Thing is Cahill is one of those players who, if we didn't play every week, would most likely f***k off elsewhere. Because he would get in the first team of probably every other PL team.
He is better than Mangala and would be decent partner for Kompany at City.
He is better than the BFG at Arsenal, though perhaps on par with Kos.
Uniteds CB's suck bigtime and have been helped a great deal by good cover from Carrick, a miracle goalie in De Gea and LvG tactics that protect the defence. Cahill would piss on Smalling, Jones and Rojo.

We were always going to need replacements for Cech and Drogba so now they are sorted, hopefully things will start to move towards actual squad improvement now rather than just replacing like for like and effectively standing still.

A youngster would make a good back up centre half but the problem I guess is that if the others don't get injuries, they'll spend the whole season on the bench not developing. Difficult juggling act but I think we have at least 3 really good young centre halves in Christensen, Kalas and Omereu.

Just checked the on loan page on the CFC website as well. Scary how many promising players we have out on loan and also established players you forget about. Romeo, Moses, Marin, Salah, Van Ginkel, Traore etc

Mate I just write them off.
    No point considering them.

Probably right but then they need to be sold. What's the point in spending 10 million on the likes of Marin and Moses and letting them run down their contracts on loan?

What's this Witsel like? Don't know too much about him.

I ask myself that very same question every day.
Someone needs to ask Jose and Roman though.
Don't know anything about Witsel to be honest.

Reminds me of Felleini the few times i have seen him play (Europy / Belgium). He'll be big and physical. He seemed tidy on the ball but not that creative. Shot a bit and had an alright shot. I wouldn't be in a rush to buy him

I'd rather a more creative player alongside Matic, someone who can also do the work as well. Pogba too expensive. Koke seems the obvious one. I also think J Moutinho is a hell of a player and surprised no one has gone in for him considering Monaco's financial situation with FFP.

Rumour has it we have (again). I think it's unlikely. Would make our midfield very strong if it happened. It wont though.

If I recall didn't you almost bag him a couple of years back for Levy to completely **** up the deal over something minor?
