Who makes way for him though, still thinks we should be signing someone like Ricardo Rodriguez or De Sciglio, guys who offer more long term investment.

Well we only currently have 1 natural left back! I would personally love to see more balance with a proper right back (Azpilicueta) and a proper left back (Luis).

I guess he's a replacement for Cole as I don't think they are convinced with Bertrand as a long term solution (who clearly wants to be playing regular now). Bertrand will probably be sold and Luis at left, dave/ivan at right back. We can then have dave as back up left back as well if needed though perhaps van aarnholt could come back?
 
Looks like Real Madrid want Ramires, 25m being talked. I'd take it or even a swap deal for Varane or Coentrao (give or take money) if that is possible. Although another midfielder leaving could leave us short.
 
Kalas has joined Cologne on loan for the season. Just been promoted to the Bundesliga (i think) so will be playing at a good level.

I guess that with Kalas and Luiz gone we're going to be in for a CB.
 
I reckon Zouma will end up at Etienne on another season loan. Probably looking at signing both a left back and a centre back for now. It is after all, Jose's way.
 
Lot of rumour circulating on us offering Ramires + 10m for Luka Modric, although it does state that Real might want a bit more.

It also states that this deal could be an alternative to Fabregas. For me, I would not budge on the 10m offered along with Ramires as 35m is about right for Modric at his age.

As for it being an alternative, can't we sign both. That would be brilliant business from our end. And our midfield would look over impressive with Fabregas, Modric, Matic, Oscar, Hazard, Willian, Schurrle and Salah with Van Ginkel being able to learn off all of those great players whilst he offers depth to the squad.

Just my two cents, but would love to see it happen.

Where have you seen this?
I havent seen anything about us signing Modric.
I was lead to believe by the Times and Telegraph that the Fabregas deal was all but done, he has agreed terms, Roman is just quibbling over a couple of million on the asking price because he doesnt want Arsenal to get a profit percentage.

I mean come on... there aren't many more in form strikers in the world at the moment than Diego Costa... what is he talking about? And did they have an outstanding striker when they won 4 years ago? So they're actually a better squad now because they have a proper striker.

And not brilliant anymore?! They could put out two teams that would both be better than any other first team at the tournament except for Germany.

I'm not sure on the reliability of the other 30 odd articles, most stemming from the original I think. But The Times and Express are not too bad. I said it was just rumour, Fabregas does look done but if Modric was attainable AS WELL, I hope we do it.

Oh okay.
Seems a bit like Overkill to me, getting Fab AND Modric.
They are not exactly the same type of player but would play in the same position (ie next to Matic in CM).
Roman still has a hard on for Modric I guess.
