if theres 3 years to run on the contract why would there be no transfer fee
They’ve made it clear that they don’t value him as a player, so I don’t blame a club trying to take him for nothing.
You’d have thought they would have checked if that was ok before starting discussions with Bale though...
Anyone think Hugill is going to need any motivation going into the season? I'd recommend Warburton pins this article on his locker before every game.......

Our scouts must be absolute garbage, 500k loss on Wheeler will be same amount for Goss and I'm guessing Smyth and Manning (Once Wallace is fit) as well, so much for talent spotting probably a 2m loss in total
He was brought in to add depth to the striking department but one has to believe that he was not thoroughly scouted.
Indeed, if Hugill added anything, it was genuine embarrassment. He has been one of the worst signings in the club’s recent history.
They had better hope QPR take a shine to him and ultimately rid the Irons of their burden.
Pretty big assumption re Smyth and Manning, one on loan to continue his development and the other clearly in the mix for the first team.
Sorry forgot Freeman add the two from Swindon and we make a profit from one player when Luongo eventually goes for another big loss.
I think both will be surplus to requirements under MW. Preferred to see them both and Wheeler given decent runs last sesson

Hugill - bought for £10 mill and played 3 games.
I think that if a club wanted me then they would have played me. Most strikers are confidence players so when a manager does this it is hardly likely to fill you with confidence that your manager believes in you!!
We need to give the boy a chance - after all he has something to prove. After spammers he went to Middlesboro - one might say out of the frying pan into the fire.
Maybe being at a club that wants him will make a difference

Not a very good read from Hugill's or our perspective. Let's hope that he gets off to a flying start and gains some much needed confidence.
Remember how Sir Les was dismissed and sent out on loan when he was about Hugill's age?
