For the first time, in a long time, I'm truly excited about the season coming. I said on the opening game last year, we were 5 or 6 players short of competing at a decent level. If we can find a couple of strikers then I will be more than happy. I know we have lost Freeman and that's a blow but I'm more intrigued about what Chair can do rather than Eze. I hope not to see time wasting from the kick off, I hope not to see Lumley (if he plays) constantly floating every dead ball to Furlong on the touchline. I do hope to see decent football and clever movement. Away days here we come......again!

What about a striker, Mark?
Why do we need a striker when we're going to be playing total football along the deck like wot MW used to watch in 75/6 at HQ? Am impressed so far at the business done and prepared to believe that he's seen the kids we got already and is happy with their potential and/or that anyone we've looked at up front is not worth the silly money their clubs want for them. There's always someone big, ugly and clumsy enough available somewhere who can mix it and win 50% of his physical battles to feed others playing off him. Oh and cheap enough for the likes of us. You never know we might get Matt Smith back on a season long loan. What do you want after all? Someone fit to play 90 minutes?

Hopefully having these players in early in pre-season is going to make a difference. Like other I know nothing of these players which for me is great, everyone starts with a clean slate. Please a striker or two though.

LUKE Freeman has joined Sheffield United for an undisclosed fee, agreeing a three-year deal with the Premier League newcomers.

Freeman departs QPR after two-and-a-half-years at the club following his arrival from Bristol City in January 2017.

The 27-year-old made a total of 112 appearances in the blue and white hoops in all competitions, scoring 15 goals.

Freeman, who signed a new contract with the R’s in November 2018, will be hoping to make his top-flight debut when the Blades kick off the new campaign at Bournemouth on 10th August.

The club would like to thank Luke for his outstanding contribution during his time with us and wish him every success in the future.

I look forward to seeing him making his mark in the Premier League which he will do. Hopefully he’ll use Sheffield to get a move to one of the bigger clubs.

Good luck to him, he deserves to be playing in the Prem. Did we pay £500k for him ? If so £4m is an excellent return, agree that it should be a lot more in today's elevated transfer fees. Hope we got a sell on clause in the deal.
