It's not hatred of him (not on my part anyway) its hatred of the style of football played when accomodating him in the first 11.I don't really understand the hatred Matt Smith. We knew the job he did when he signed him and he did that job well. Top scorer last year and played how many minutes?
His job was to scores goals he didn't do this so ended up being a sub more often than not. Percentages say that if u hoof enough crosses in in the last 5 minutes when opposition are tiring anyone of Smith's height will knock one in eventually. His fitness throughout the season was also highly questionable.I don't really understand the hatred Matt Smith. We knew the job he did when he signed him and he did that job well. 500 K and a packet of crisps maybe. I expect Wall have got a deal the way they play. His departure leaves us going into pre-season games without a striker with any goal scoring form at this level.We actually got money for him, football really has gone mad
Due to his sheer size and weight, the lad didnt have a sprint in him! He just trudged after the ball. A full backs dream really, a striker who ambles towards you to close you down.His job was to scores goals he didn't do this so ended up being a sub more often than not. Great goal at Wednesday to sign off his time at the Rs thoughAgree. Pleasant fella but limited ability.

Anyone else worried about the fact we have hardly any players left?
Very true!Only started 49 times for us, scored 23 goals. Came off the bench 59 times.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not his biggest fan and I'm not overly sad to see him go, but I don't think he's been atrocious. We've had a lot worse in recent years sadly!!!
When did we let Ned Zelic go?Saw this list on LFW's and doing a blatant piece of copying to save having to type out list...…….I'm sure the original poster won't mind.
Squad as it stands at the moment with some multitasking......
GK: Lumley / Kelly
RB: Furlong / Kakay
CB: Hall / Leistner
CB: Babet / Furlong
LB: Wallace / Manning
DCM: Amos / Babet
CM: Smith / Scowen / Manning
RM: BOS / Shodipo / Eze
LM: Eze / Chair / Manning
"10": Eze / Smyth
"9": ? / ? / Oteh
This assumes that both Freeman and Luongo will be leaving...….
Feel free to add to list any that have been missed.
Smyth ain't really a No. 10 is he? Though he was more a winger. We've still got Des Walkers son haven't we? Who needs strikers any way.Saw this list on LFW's and doing a blatant piece of copying to save having to type out list...…….I'm sure the original poster won't mind.

Yeah, overrated are strikers.Smyth ain't really a No. 10 is he? Though he was more a winger. We've still got Des Walkers son haven't we? Who needs strikers any way.
He had a brief stint in the Premier League for QPR, moving for a club record £1.25 million,[1] which was beset by injury and discontent. After just 4 Premier League games for the West London club, he departed to Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany.[2]When did we let Ned Zelic go?
He goes with my best wishes for his future, excepting against us. Last season we played him without just pumping high balls up to him, and he was useful. Hoping Warburton has a couple of decent replacements lined up.Yeah, I understand that I guess. Just felt some of the posts were a little OTT. I never felt he put in less than his all, so he goes with my best wishes (means f all, I appreciate).
