I'm afraid JK another loan wouldn't be good enough in my opinion, we had plenty of time to get organised this summer but didn't, that's why the fan's are melting down and they all have a right too.
I'm fairly sure that there is no loan window in the Premier League

I (and many others I expect) will be the first to apologise if this does all turn out to be hysterical nonsense and we stay up comfortably, time will tell but other teams getting their targets & strengthening IS worrying

So in a sense you're agreeing - he was only going to be sitting on the bench for most of the season and when all the players are fit - he might not even make it on the bench - £6m good deal for a fringe player- his achievements last year are irrelevant to the development of the football club

Sorry long sight, I'm really not agreeing with you. Teams are rotated these days and Bradders was, IMO, a central part of that benching or not. I can't envisage a squad with him by even making the bench. There is no way he's a fringe player - he's appeared in each game so far!

It's a pretty poor show, yes we've made a couple of astute additions but essentially we've done it without spending any money. I wouldn't say we've weakened the squad but I'm not convinced we've strengthened it significantly either. I think we are going to struggle to score enough goals and even one injury at the back could leave us very exposed.

I said "never starts in the Prem under AN". Which is true.

It's not like we don't have players that can cover the midfield without him.

It's true based on a sample of four games, which is hardly representative of a season is it? This isn't the 1970's, you don't go trough the season with only 13 players making appearances all season. Oscar hasn't started for Chelsea yet this season, will they sell him?

Like I said you're taking a very simplistic and short-sighted view, one I cannot agree with.

Every club has seriously strengthened this window especially our 'rivals' and we haven't. I don't buy all this crap about not being able to persuade players to sign, total bollocks. Just try offering realistic fees and don't leave it until the last minute so you've no time to negotiate. It beggars belief that we haven't signed even a half decent CB, I don't know perhaps AN's honeymoon period is over who knows. Then again is it his fault? Has he been shafted by the board? Very probably me thinks

Pretty much agree with your post KIO. It does seem naive to hope that the players who were the nucleus of the team when we were last in the PL are (with a few additions) being entrusted to keep us up. Why not take a risk/gamble with all the PL money that's on offer next season???
I gambled on taking a season ticket for 4 years (the maximum I was allowed before McNally took over and saved a large amount of money), so had 3 years of PL football for under £300 a season!!! I'm not sure I'll be taking the offer of a 3 year season ticket now though.

So now BJ, Odidja-Ofoe, and Andreu are no longer available for selection, leaving us 3 players short in the squad. What next? This whole season is unravelling for no reason at all.

Another two centre midfielders out. So howson mulumbu, dorrans and tettey. Surely that must free up space for a last minute centre back signing

Despite what I said earlier about Johnson, I still feel upbeat. If we go the rest of the season and play badly and get relegated then I might look back thinking we should have strengthened, but it's a little to early to be panicking. AN got us this far, we owe him to keep the faith.
