I kept the "in McNally we trust" through all those cock ups....Today had been a slap in the face. Sign noone, even though we had 2 key positions to fill, and then sell one of our best players to a championship side! Loan out Ricky, but keep Lafferty and Grabban....Jesus Christ....I feel so down after today, I was so sure they would do the job and get what we so obviously needed....I just can't believe we didn't push and be decisive. We didnt need to buy a new squad like all our rivals. We needed to keep our better players and buy 2 key players. Failed at every one of those.
This is my way of thinking. Although most loved BJ last season, we have not seriously dented the starting line up (in an ideal world). I accept though that most would also liked to have seen a better starting XI
Granted, yes we could have done with a CB, but there's still a little bit of time (not to mention the loan window - we still have one loan slot available). Grabban too can still be loaned out. Christ. No need for a meltdown.
"Never plays under AN in the prem"??? So just because he didn't start the first four games we might as well sell him?? How very simplistic and short-sighted, and absolute twaddle as well, there simply HAS to be more to it than that.
Barely any of the players we were linked with this summer were actual targets, half of them were HITC rumours! Employing the head of recruitment in July? Employing someone who previous struggled to get players in at Burnley? Those are two massive points for me Dave.
I said "never starts in the Prem under AN". Which is true. It's not like we don't have players that can cover the midfield without him.
Thought this forum would be in meltdowns!! What a total disgrace of a transfer window, easily the worst in living memory. Where is the investment?? RIP Bradders, you will be missed.
I think it's obvious from our board and manager that we want to be a Yoyo club like WBA and pick up the money and hope we bounce back. All this money, and they still wanna just pick up frees and bid 1 million for an 8 million pound player....It's suicide.
Anyone would think we'd lost Wes, Bassong, Ruddy and Redmond judging by some of the posts on here. It's like reading some sort of horrible pink'un - Canary Call mutant hybrid.
I was at St Mary's on Sunday, and thought Johnson was our best player when he came on. He won every header he went up for, injected energy into our play and had a decent shot (possibly our only one on target I think). I am absolutely stunned we have sold him, he would certainly have made 15-20 appearances this season I reckon.
I was there and thought Wisdom was very good too when he came on. Dire performance though, Redmond had a stinker. I just don't get it, it's not like we needed the money for Johnson. It really doesn't make any sense!!
Every club has seriously strengthened this window especially our 'rivals' and we haven't. I don't buy all this crap about not being able to persuade players to sign, total bollocks. Just try offering realistic fees and don't leave it until the last minute so you've no time to negotiate. It beggars belief that we haven't signed even a half decent CB, I don't know perhaps AN's honeymoon period is over who knows. Then again is it his fault? Has he been shafted by the board? Very probably me thinks
I'm afraid JK another loan wouldn't be good enough in my opinion, we had plenty of time to get organised this summer but didn't, that's why the fan's are melting down and they all have a right too.
