Hopefully the "it can become permanent" is an option, rather than the current vogue for loan deals with a compulsory price already agreed. Dieumerci Mbokani joins @NorwichCityFC today. Earlier it was reported that season-long loan deal but it can become a permanent transfer.
What's nice though is that we'll have agreed a price for a player with 1 year left on his contract, at today's market rates. Next summer TV money goes up by 70% so teams will want even more ludicrous fees from Premier League clubs. If Mbokani is a hit, it'll be a relatively small outlay next summer to turn it permanent and allow him to continue seamlessly up front, it'll certainly save money for other areas. And of course if he's a flop, or we go down, we can get rid.
