Bristol City have had a £9m bid accepted for Andre Gray. Apparently their backer is richer than I thought. We couldn't compete with that.

He was brilliant for Wolves last season and has a good pedigree at the Arsenal academy.

Not really the experienced striker we sounded like we were originally looking for (and tbh I think we possibly need, though maybe can't afford). He's not tall, but seriously strong and pacey from the little I've seen. Could be a very good signing if it comes off.

Quite a few YouTube compilations of his goals (he obviously scores for the cameras...)

So obviously not great to judge purely from this, but it seems he likes the through ball to his feet and (if that volley for Wolves against Wednesday is anything go by - at about 0:50 in the video) has pretty sensational technique (it might have been his shin, can't tell from the quality!)

They're owned by Steve Lansdown of Hargreaves Lansdown. Who's worth a billion or two. He's a Bristol born businessman and a lifelong fan, pretty much the perfect owner. He's creating an interesting thing in Bristol bringing the rugby and football club together up under the umbrella of Bristol Sport, will be interesting to see how it works.

Yeah, I live in Bristol and have been impressed by the way he's turning things around. That said, I thought it was his plan to make the clubs stand on their own financially, once he'd put them on a firm footing. I didn't think he planned to seriously splash the cash on transfers. Hasn't realised he was worth that much though.

Afobe looks like an Earnshaw on steroids. Pace, power and brains. I can see why his name has been mentioned.

Personally, I'm not bothered about proven Premiership strikers. I want us to be the team that the next star steps up to the plate at.

Definitely if it's between Afobe and Jelavic (on £55kpw)!

Afobe seems much more the sort of player AN is looking for - young and hungry, good pace, can shoot with either foot and not that small at 6'0" (Jerome is 6'1"). Looks good to me.

And interestingly Grabban linked with a £10m move back to Bournemouth (although I have a feeling HITC is even less reliable than the Daily Fail)

£10m???!!! Really???!!! Wow - snap their hand off it there's any truth in that, crazy money, so crazy in fact it can't possibly be true (particularly looking at the source of the rumour as you say <ok>)

Grabban to Bournemouth for £10m, Hooper to QPR for £5m, Lafferty to Rangers on loan, RvW to anywhere but here for whatever we can get, Afobe and A N Other in and 1950canary would be in dreamland!!
