Oh god please not James Collins, I think he's bloody dreadful and every time I see him he's like an accident waiting to happen. Obviously people see more in him than I do for him to have so many caps and top flight appearances, but I have always though him to be dogshit, never seen why is so highly rated as I've seen him make so many cock-ups over the years.

Agreed that he's not overwhelming but he's probably better than turner and in our price range.

My first reaction to this was the same as yours, yes he's got experience in the PL but I wouldn't feel 100% confident with him in our defense.

Yep not really convinced by this one.

He won't dislodge either Martin or Bassong and I don't think he's that much better than Turner, so I don't really see the point.

Doubt there's anything in it.
 
We were linked a lot with Curtis Davies when Hughton was here, maybe the scouts agreed with Chris's knowledge of him and are still interested in him? Dawson? Huddlestone? Afobe? Robertson?
 
I would like to hold on to hooper. I think our style seems to be progressing to a possession based midfield and using wes to get players in behind the defensive line.
Hooper could lead that sort of line very well. He is a very good striker when the call is played to him in the box and we've started to look much better at that.
That said if the swap deal with van Dijk was on the table I'd be extremely tempted, probably the only reason I'd be willing to see him leave.
