I've oft wondered if it's worth starting a debate about a completely fictitious rumour on here, and seeing how long it takes to makes it's way to one of those sites. I'd just feel bad leading others astray to make sure whoever scans these forums didn't realise it was a deliberate lie!

Quite a few stories on Newsnow strangely mirror some of our threads , even the wording .
 
Haven't we had this discussion before where we were going to punt out some out there transfers to see if we could get someone to write them up?

Nice! Regular for Ajax, scored 4 goals last season, and played in the Champions League and Europa League. A good age as well. I'd be relieved with a signing like this. Bring in a striker and I'd feel much better about the squad.

I tried making up the rumour about us putting in a joint £10m bid for Mings and Teddy Bishop and while it kept me entertained on the Binners board (generally they were having none of it...) it never took off. The rug was somewhat pulled from under that one when Bournemouth signed Mings early on too

Looks like another day without a new striker unfortunately (unless Veltman can double up as a powerful centre forward...<whistle>), so much for having one in early this week.

Supposedly Destro has rebuffed our offer, he'd rather stay in Italy. Hopefully he wasn't the target we were meant to have sewn up by now then.
