Thank God for that. If Gayle was going to be the extent of our ambition we might as well plan now for next year in the Championship. I agree with those who say we need a new striker as Jerome is the only one we have with some form of record in the EPL. We need a decent striker and that costs money but if we have any hope of staying up the money has got to be spent sometime before Aug 31st. The same applies to a CB although they do seem to come a bit cheaper than strikers. We will also have to get rid of a few which is often easier said than done. We just cannot lose sight of the strengthening done by all other so called lower rated teams and cannot hope to survive purely on AN magic and team spirit.

BBC Gossip column has Biglia joining Man United for about £18m supposedly.

Like your goodself 1950 I have followed City for many, many years (well not quite as long as you :emoticon-0105-wink:), and you must know as well as I do that City have NEVER pushed the boat out under any circumstance, not even when we had a real chance of a League and Cup double in '89, not even when we nearly won the inaugural Premier League title in '93. Yes, we paid an alleged £8.5M for Rip van Winkel but that was only because we thought we were stealing a march on bigger clubs by paying the money up front IMO. Yes I'm an old cynic but I've good reason to be, we will sign a striker of that I'm sure, but it will be someone's over the hill cast-off or someone from the lower leagues here or from abroad <ok>

P.S. Please feel free anyone to use this post as a signature should pigs fly and we sign Destro <laugh>

Mattia Destro?! Blimey! At least if true, we are reaching for the Stars. I hope we have back up options. Incase it all goes a bit Quintero.
