Nope. It was an aside and clearly stated separately on that basis. I only picked up on it because this Lambretta chap insists upon misinterpreting everything posted.

It amused me that he was so definitively incorrect when everything else is a lot of opinion stated as fact, which means he keeps skewing what people sayf That's why I'm still convinced he's just wumming

He has been guilty of it in the past, he once wished all of Grant Holt's kiddies would die! <ok>

I didn't know that, what a weirdo.

Anyway, it's clear this thing is massively boring everyone - believe it or not that includes me as I posted some time ago. I really don't care enough about the Brady thing, I just want it to go away one way or another.

This post below is my only concrete statement on how I think our club have behaved, and I've seen not a single thing that contradicts this other than Bruce's rhetoric. I'm going to leave this topic at that until we hear something definitive. <ok> Sorry to piss everyone off.

I simply will not be persuaded that our club didn't open with a commercially appropriate (albeit cosmetically unattractive and actually unacceptable) bid. To do so would be counter-productive and jars strongly with all the professionalism that our club has showed since the threat of administration. So I'm going to frame my judgement of these rumours on that basis.

Name one other bid where we have mucked the other club around recently? Generally speaking, I think we've negotiated sensibly and there has been commercial wisdom - I would say we've erred on the side of paying generously for the likes of Howson, Snodgrass, Pilks, Bennetts, Andreu, Miquel and even in relation to Neil himself. The only transfer where we behaved a bit oddly was with RvW, but that was because we stole a march by paying cash early, up front to a club in dire need (and ended up with a dud anyway...)

If you behave like twats in negotiations, you tend to fall short. I sincerely doubt we are behaving as badly as Bruce is so keen to paint because we haven't done it before and it doesn't fit in with our ethos over the last five years. I also think there is more to the bids than meets the eye - I will repeat again that Hull allegedly still owe us a large chunk of the Snodgrass fee and that there was a rumour it formed part of the Brady bid consideration.

I'm sorry, but I just don't understand how you think £2m for Brady would be bang on the market price for him, and then go on to describe the £8m (or whatever it was we got) for Snodgrass as an "exceptional bargain", particularly as the contract situation was the same for both. By the way I have absolutely no interest at all in the transfermarket.com valuations, the calculations are far to flaky to be anything like meaningful.

Do you really think Snodgrass is worth four times what Brady is? I certainly don't, Brady is four years younger, not even approaching his prime yet and is a player I rate highly so I stand by my comment that our £2m bid for him was derisory and if I were a Hull fan I'd probably be thinking that it's us who is taking the p1ss and that I wouldn't want to deal with us in the future, rather than the other way round.

I dunno, I personally think you're maybe being a bit touchy about this one, I don't see what Hull have done wrong at all.

Simply a bit of trying to unsettle the player which by all accounts has worked , but being realistic at best it's a sideward step which in fairness was the same with snodgrass , unless things change at your end there's a good chance we could be swapping divisions again next season.

There is still 3 weeks until the season begins and 6 weeks until the window closes, so it is far too early to panic. Bruce needs money to buy players, so he is trying to force the issue. His latest antic is to say that he won't stay unless Hull get more ambitious which must be unsettling for their present players as well as anybody they'd like to recruit. If Brady joined us now would he go out to Germany? Probably not, so there's no immediate rush to sign him. AN has said that we are working on other deals, it's just that the other parties are more professional than Hull.

Some of you lot are bonkers , wouldn't your manager be a little miffed off if us or any club made a piss poor offer for one of your players ? You were never going to get any of our top players for two million it would cost us a lot more to find a replacement !

Hmmm, whilst us coming down is a risk, Hull going back up? We were told by other fans it was mission impossible, and we weren't down to a squad of 14 players during pre-season. http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Hull...n-says-Steve/story-27449744-detail/story.html

With vultures like ourselves still swooping as well, unfortunately. It'll be one hell of a season from here, but good luck with it!

Skimmed over most of the Rob vs Munky/Lambretta pages... has this been mentioned? I read this as a potential backup in case Brady doesn't work out or to get things moving along faster.

Mirror reporting we're in for Rickie Lambert along with WBA. Liverpool want circa £3M, is that good value for someone who's 34 next birthday and probably has just one decent season left in him?

£3 Million is a lot for Someone his age. If he gets us the goals, to keep us up, then it is definitely worth the money. Especially compared to Rickys 8.5 odd Million for 1 goal. Unfortunately didn't really get a run out last season, so hard to tell if he's still got it.

I'd take Marcos Alonso - thought he did a decent job at Sunderland and he can also play CB. Would be better value at that price IMO.

Plus he has a good foreign sounding name

I'd be happy with Lambert at that price. Hes not a player reliant on speed and would certianly give us a different option. Looking at the attacking talent we have in midfield having someone who can hold the ball up would and who is so strong in the air would be a huge benefit. Id be cautious about wages though!

Very good way to say to Hull that we're ready to move on if they don't accept our final bid. Also, if Brady wants to come, that puts pressure on Hull. I like the look of Marcos, a LB who can also play CB or LM. At 24 he has experience of English football and the flexibility that AN is looking for. I'd be happy with that.

I don't know why people are being so impatient and stroppy about the Brady deal, it's only been talked about for a fortnight or so and there have been far longer running transfer sagas than this. I honestly don't know what Hull have done wrong here, they are clearly holding out for as much money as they can which is absolutely their prerogative, and I'm afraid we're going to have get used to rival managers playing the media regarding deals, it's just part of the game nowadays and goes on all the time, it really is no big deal at all. I'm sure all will work out fine in the end with us paying a fee that suits both parties, and as soon as the season gets underway this will allbe forgotten about <ok>
