We've just announced that we're offering him a new deal, to stop him getting itchy feet.
If I were Brady, I'd like to see the deal Norwich are offering before I'd accept a new deal at Hull. His Transfermarkt valuation is currently £1.4m, so an offer of £3m is hardly derisory. Snodgrass' valuation at Transfermarkt is £4.9m, in spite of his injury last season. Bournemouth obviously subscribe to the view that PL clubs should offer ridiculous amounts for players in spite of their asset valuation. Tyrone Mings has a Transfermarkt valuation of £2.1m and yet Bournemouth paid £7-8m for him, according to what you read. Should we therefore pay similar for Brady? I don't think so.

I think particularly for younger players like Brady their value is as much about their potential to develop as it is about their true current value. I think an offer of £3m is some way off the mark. After all we got £3.8 for RVW. If Mings is worth £7-8m, then Brady is in my mind worth a similar amount. I would expect us to have to pay somewhere in the region of £5m with add-ons for Brady.
Particularly when they appear to have completely missed the point of transfermarkt valuations. Oh well.
Another link slightly out of left field, Galatasaray's 30 year old RB/RWB Sabri Sarioglu, who is apparently after a final hurrar in the Prem.
He's been a very consistent performer for them for years, and from what little knowledge of him I have, he's quite pacy and good going forward. I'd be slightly worried that coming from Turkey his wages would be high, and at 30 and never tested outside Turkey (well, and the champions league!), might not adapt to the league or have resale value. Reminds me a bit of Helveg joining in some ways.
Holy Moses, let's not go down the Worthy route again. Helveg, Jonson and Svensson all smacked of desperation and trying to appease the fans by signing 'seasoned' internationals.
Lambert had the right idea, looking for people from under the radar that he could mould into a well drilled unit.
I know van Dijk is not like that, but him and say Brady would be superb - even if that meant there's not much left in the transfer kitty for full backs and strikers. Loans are still an option afterwards, as with Kyle Naughton?
I think you're right that Mings and Brady might have a similar 'market value', given their potential to develop, but Bournemouth paid well over any reasonable 'market value' for Mings, whose actual price should have been around £4-5m, IMO. Brady should be similar. Hull have now played their hand by offering him a new contract. If he signs, he'll stay, but if he doesn't he'll be off.
The above is from Snodgrass wiki page. Maybe Hull figure as it's Norwich, it's also payback time, so are holding out for top dollar for Brady? Be interesting to see what Norwich, Hull and Brady do if a realistic offer appears from a different club?
I agree OCF. Helveg and Jonson might have been disappointing, but Svensson did a good job for us and would have stayed on in the Championship had we offered him more than a one-year contract.
Me too. Just using them as an example of signing people largely to pacify the fans looking to 'compete' - and therefore expecting household names / internationals in order to be able to do so. QPRcelona persist in going down that route
whereas Norwich, under Lambert and, I believe Alex Neil, use different criteria when looking to sign new players. I hope

Helveg was very much in that category, Cromer, whereas Brady seems much more like a Lambert signing to me.
