Personally I think we have enough solid players (certainly in midfield). We need the extra finishing touches to the squad to make it special.
Agree with this. And Wessi can't go on forever - I doubt he'll start as many games next season, so an 'understudy' with guile to unlock solid defences wouldn't go amiss. (I know this is a massive ask, and would involve a lot of outlay).
As we've not had a wide left sided player since Pilkington left. then I'd be quite happy to see someone like Brady join up. Wiki suggests he can also play left back, too, so double whammy if anything happens to Olsson.
But the quoted figure of £15m in the article below is well and truly taking the pee. <laugh>

If they are on a pay cut then Hull are perhaps in no rush to sell. They can charge what they want until he starts making noises.

If we're buying a left winger from Hull is rather Tom Ince. I know he comes with masses of baggage but I thought he looked very good at Derby and clearly has masses of potential.

Not sure why. Hull didn't see him as good enough, and they were struggling.

Derby dropped not long after his arrival I believe.

He scored 11 in 17 games for Derby from the wing. Their drop was related to Martin and Bent being injured.

I think he fell out with Bruce, it's off the pitch not on it that I'd question signing him.

11 from 17 is impressive but did those goals not come in a burst at the start. I thought he fizzled out badly.

If he did fall out with Bruce then I'd be tempted by him.

Like others, I think we don't to sign many players, so those that we do need to add quality and guile. That Brady can play WL as well as LB would be an advantage, and he's experienced in the PL for a 23 year old. I'd also like to see a quality left-sided CB who can also cover at LB so that Miquel can go out on loan to get experience. My other priority would be a specialist quality AM player with a good goal-scoring record.

Brady is starting at LB today for RoI, will be interesting to see how he gets on.

Perhaps Neil is approaching the left side of the squad differently to you're suggesting Rick. Someone who can cover LB and LM makes sense in our formation, we've been a lot more compact down the left compared to the right, and perhaps Brady could play on the left in a similar fashion to Johnson.

With effectively two LB options, Toffolo, Miquel or both could probably go out on loan, and we could then look to sign a pure centre back, rather than wanting someone to cover full back too.

Agree we need a classy AM. Not sure about either Andreu or McGrandles situation. Thought the latter was bought to eventually take over from Wes. Would be very happy if we could sign Guidetti though.

Couldn't agree more, fer really didn't flourish given the ample opportunity he had to fill this role. Also think howson evolved now into a far more rounded midfielder and can see AN using him and Johnson wide. Think Brady used more as a wing back when hull played 5 at back not a full on full back but seems a good signing to me, hard working every time I've seen him. Liked both him and elmohamady when hull played 5 at the back

The more I see of Raheem Sterling, the more I think Redmond is better. I just hope Rodgers doesn't think the same when Sterling moves on in the next few weeks :emoticon-0107-sweat
