Yep, he could even buy his own restaurant. Him an Hooper could meet up and feast on boneless banquets.
Re: Norwich not being an attractive proposition to players, if Mark Hughes can persuade a former Bayern Munich player and World Cup star to move from MILAN to STOKE then why can't we convince anybody??!
I'm guessing they are probably paying him something like triple what we pay our highest earner though
Stoke is only an hour or so from the nice parts of Cheshire where footballers tend to live and mark Hughes is a big name in comparison to Alex Neil. Big name with good contacts
Take him to Pedro's, if he's not persuaded by the chicken and chilli stack, MMMMM then maybe the nice walk through chapelfield will seal it! Bah!
True but if you can throw £500k/£1m into the pot I'm sure they would end up living somewhere pretty decent they can slum it in for a season or two within a relatively short commute to the Brittania.
If we survive this season I think we'll be OK at attracting better players, after last time hardly surprising we're having trouble. Given our location we ought to attract them. Now the A11 is dualled we're spitting distance to London, after all given the amount of londoners with second homes here we can attract them ok. If AN can get us playing good football & winning games & we stay up I think then you will see the "big boys" sit up and take notice. Well I hope so anyway
Yeah but that same money here would buy you a cracking place in say Wroxham, get yourself a boat etc. Geographically I think we have more to offer players once we show we're established and AN has cut his teeth in the PL. You can see why they're thinking twice right now, relegation candidate, played dire football last time round, untested manager at this level. Would you gamble your career on that at this moment in time? You can see why lower league players would but the type of player "we" want coming in you can look at the above & understand their position. Maybe January or dare I say it our 2nd season in the PL we'll find it easier to recruit.
AN's interview is very, very honest. Possibly a little too honest... But that's where we are and we'll have to make do. I'm not as positive as I was after the play-off final, because I think the teams immediately above us have really strengthened, and we could really do with a Wolves/Blackburn style implosion. But we still have enough to stay up even if we don't get anyone else in - panic stations will be in January... EDIT: someone else imploding!
There won't be any need for panic stations in January, we'll be in third place and flying! Destro will be begging to join us! Bah!
