Two things stick out about the video
i.) They claim to not be interested in gossip and rumour, yet not only is the talk of us signing Ndombele increasingly gathering in strength, but we were also linked with Almendra in the past month (which I mentioned at the time)
ii.) I suggested Kerem Demirbay as a Dembele replacement back in December

 

Things are in motion.
Would be nice to know if/when personal terms have been agreed
(which is before the real Levying begins) .

 

I'd expect us to have outlined the terms to his agent well before entering negotiations and making any sort of offer. We tried to get him last summer, so this is no rushed job and if we haven't tapped this bloke up good and proper, then Levy wants a proper slapping with a wet halibut.

It's reported that we're not trying for players like Gomes or Tielemans. If we're passing them up on nothing more than a hunch we could get Ndombele and Lo Celso, then we're a bunch of ****ing amateurs.

We have the capability of making him a seriously good offer on wages, given that we rate him so highly and he's still a young player. We can't afford a Galactico or Alexis Sanchez or Mesut Ozil, but that's not what we're trying to buy. I just hope that we've got some contingency to push the deals over the line if things get tricky with a late entrant offering more.

 

Plot twist:

We’ve actually signed Ndombele, Lo Celso, Sessegnon, Aarons and Clarke but because it’s been so long since we signed anyone, the club’s forgotten how to announce new signings.

 

Now would be a good time to remind people that the first photos of Ben Davies in a Spurs shirt weren't as part of the usual unveiling package, but as part of a training gallery when we were on a pre-season tour of the USA of America, and IIRC something similar happened with Pau Lopez

I've long said that this would be the single most epic way of announcing a new signing(s). You turn up for the first game of the season against Villa thoroughly pissed off that we've once again signed no-one and lo and behold they're all in the starting line up . Never going to happen in the social media age but can you imagine the scenes! That one stunt alone would bring us to the attention of pretty much every football fan in the world and would probably be worth more commercially in the long run than the nauseatingly exaggerated crap we now see when players are announced.

 

Rabiot to Juve is a done deal, according to the various purveyors of summer bullshit. It's being picked up slowly by more reliable sources too now though so maybe the dominoes are just about ready to start falling.

Translation: After presenting Jovic, Hazard and Mendy, Real Madrid will now focus on finishing a few starts and in the final attempt for Pogba. But if United gives us up, it will look for another alternative, which is no longer Eriksen. The Dane of Tottenham has been ruled out.

 

No doubt that there's all manner of machinations going on and this may yet not be the end of the story but it seems that the Real Madrid tapping up machine isn't being employed to get Christian Eriksen to act like a dickhead and strop his way out of the club...
